First things first, WELCOME to the DISboards and to the Camping Boards in particular!

:welcome:
I share your love for Disney at Christmas. Congratulations on getting some sweet dates for next year. Hope to see you around here as your anticipation of next Christmas builds!

Welcome to the camping board !

Nice dates,,and when you go,,take a fishing pole,,
(some of the fish wear little Santa hats).

Thank you guys for the warm welcome. As you can see, I'm learning my way around the site (i.e. got my ticker set up). I love reading the e-mails back and forth, it sounds like you are all long time friends!

Oh cool! You're from Cumming. We have another active camping board member from Cumming, US3 (Sonya). I used to live in Woodstock GA (DS still does) and drove through Cumming all the time (20 to I-85). Anyway, welcome neighbor! Enjoy the conversation on our virtual front porch.

Welcome to the Dis.........

Yes, many of us have made life long friends here. We already have family, camping and Disney in common when we meet. You will see lots of humor in our posts back and forth. Look for some sort of :lmao: :rotfl2: :rotfl: to tell we are not being seriuos, there are a few you don't like the smilies :confused3 so you have to read between the lines there.

Welcome! We live in Cumming also (thanks for the intro Shanta!:goodvibes ). We love FW also and go as much as jobs and money will allow us! Stick around and enjoy the fun around here on the camping boards! :thumbsup2

I'm just curious. Our reservations are for a premium pet site. I've been reading where people are requesting certain loops. We have a rather large motor home with slides and will also have a tent on site. I specifically asked when making the reservation if the premium sites would have a sand area for a tent and was told yes. Is that in fact true? Also, are there certain loops that are more desirable than others? The only other time we stayed at FW we were in loop 1600 and we were happy there. As always, your expert advice is a huge help. Thank you.

The premium sites are all concrete pad. You need a preferred or full hook up for sand pad.

Loop 100 - Preferred
Loop 200 - Preferred
Loop 300 - Preferred Pet
Loop 400 - Premium
Loop 500 - Premium Pet
Loop 600 - Premium
Loop 700 - Premium Pet
Loop 800 - Premium Pet
Loop 900 - Premium Pet
Loop 1000 - Premium
Loop 1100 - Premium
Loop 1200 - Premium Pet
Loop 1300 - Premium Pet
Loop 1400 - Premium
Loop 1500 - Partial
Loop 1600 - Preferred Pet
Loop 1700 - Preferred
Loop 1800 - Preferred Pet
Loop 1900 - Preferred
Loop 2000 - Partial

We like 300 and 1600.

To answer your question about the tent - we just got back from the Fort last night and we stayed in a premium site in the 400 loop. We have a 45 foot motorhome and it fit onto the site with no problem. However, there was absolutely nowhere on our site for a tent. First off it wasn't big enough, and second the only place where there was any sand was a narrow patch on the side of the site where the hookups were. There is no sand pad in the back like there is on the full hookup and preferred sites. I did see a tent on a premium site, but I didn't see how they had it staked down. That site had a popup and a tent and with the little popup the tent fit easily. Again, though, there's no way we could have fit our 45 footer and a tent onto our site. Our site was a decent size, and seemed pretty standard for the premium loop, although there were sites in our loop that were longer (and shorter) than ours. Enjoy your trip - we're hoping to be there for part of that time; I made our reservations a couple weeks ago.

BTW, I see from the list posted above that 400 is a premium loop, but not a pet loop. I saw at least 3 sites in the loop with pets on them - I'm not sure whether the people in those sites didn't mention their pets or whether FW permitted it, but I suspect it's the former.

I think while the construction is going on, all pet or non-pet designations have gone totally out the window. (Except for 1500 and 2000 which are not pet loops and never will be).

CLKelley, when you made your reservations, did you request a certain loop? I'm just wondering if I should request the same loop (1600) that we were in last year (that's the only one we know).

Shan-man, I could not respond to your PM because I got a message that says I have to reach 10 posts before I can do so. I tried to e-mail you but I got a message that said I had to reach 15 posts! I am so so sorry. Are you sure this is okay?????

Sorry, I had no idea that such restrictions were placed on newbies! LOL. Thanks for making the change, I do appreciate it. Now get out there and make some more posts so you can be a full-fledged DISer!

I guess if 900 loop is going to be premium we'll never get that loop again. It has always been our favorite and I was hoping it would just stay full hookup.
