I will be at Fort Wilderness for most of January and February; Been a dream to stay that long. We have been visiting FW and WDW form the northeast since 1978 and this will be our 24th visit, all great! I will be in a premium site: three questions: first, while I enjoy the decorations at the sites, I would not want to be next to a highly decorated site; no offense, just like the peace and quiet. how to request? Second, I want a golf cart for the full time; what is the best outside rental agency and how does the cart get to your site? Third, how do you handle mail from home for an extended stay? Thanks all!

1) It's a crap shoot & there are no guarantees as Disney doesn't ask how much you will be decorating your site.

2) There are several listed in the yellow pages. You'll find an area phone book at each comfort station. I'd call and compare.

3) FtW used to have mailboxes on site that you can rent for your length of stay. Call the front desk to see if they still have them and can one be assigned to you. 407-824-2900. Have your mail forwarded there.

4) Not an answer to any question, but very important none the less....we did a 4 month stay 2002/2003 & a 3 month stay 2003/2004. You are going to be so spoiled there will be no living with you ever again!:lmao: I hope you really, really enjoy yourself!

A company I have used is Golf & Electric Vehicles Group (formerly known as CUSTOM CARRIAGES, INC.) According to their Regional Sales Manager Steve Senesi (they have 5 locations around Florida) they have 2 passenger, 4 passenger and 6 passenger golf cars available for rental. Additionally, they offer gas and electric vehicles, although electric is preferable due to less noise and pollution. Rental rates are less than FW but you have to factor in a pickup and delivery charge of $50 roundtrip. They will deliver the vehicle to FW, coordinated in advance. Also, a rental agreement must be signed and faxed to them before delivery can be made. Payment by check or cash due upon delivery of vehicles. When I used them this is how it worked: On the appointed day they road up to my site in the cart and the day were were leaving they picked it up at the site. The down side to their services is that they do not pick up or deliver on the weekends. But, if like you, someone is staying an extended length of time you can save money this way. Contact Steve Senesi for more information.

Other sources of carts in Orlando include:
EZGO 407-847-3444
Yamaha Factory Outlet 407-847-5019
Orlando Golf Carts 407-426-9727

Even with a private cart, you are required to follow the rental cart rules. I have them posted on my web page.

First off, Welcome to the Dis.
Most of the highly decorated sites are facing the road, so I'd request in the middle of the loop. :thumbsup2

Tim gave you the most recommended golf cart guy. :thumbsup2

Maybe a Fort CM can help you with your mail, if someone here doesn't know.

Safe travels and have a great time.

We get mail delievered to the front desk. They will leave a note at your RV that you have mail to pickup there. You could also get a PO box at Lake Buena Vista PO.

Wow, keeps those cards and letters coming! I think I will post all of my life's problems and some member of the Disney family can find a solution!
