My wife and daughter went to an advanced screening last night.
Lots of ooohhing and ahhing !(as you might expect when Rob came on the screen)

Oh yeah....must see for my little emo dd and her little emo man candy.....the cutest little emo kids you ever did see....15 and madly in love...so we'll be there ( although I might just go see BOLT instead). I took them to see WALL.E ( who oddly enough resembles my little puggie LILL.E) and they had a blast so maybe I can sway them.....yup....probably not....didn't think so. pug:

Count me in too! I read all the books this summer. I'm not counting the movie to be as good as the books...but I'll have to see it!

My DN13 and I just got back. It was definitely not as good as the book, but it was really enjoyable. I especially liked the parts at the beginning, when you don't know the Cullens, but you have read the book, so you really do! Their reactions and their faces are just wonderful! I thought they did a fairly good job, it wasn't as true to the book as I would have liked.

I will be buying it when it comes out.:thumbsup2

my review; I wasn't as disappointed as I thought I'd be! My expectations were really low, though.

I thought the make-up was horrible. I thought Robert Pattinson was great as Edward, which was a surprise.

Obviously, can't compare to the book. But, considering they started this movie over 4 yrs ago way before the book hype and low budget.

I will say that when the credit came on the screen, I was like "NO" that's can't be it already!!:sad2:

I was actually disappointed in the way they dealt with 'the hunt' part, with James and when they were on the run. It made it seem like it was really easy for them. I really want to re-read the book again now though. I loved Jasper's face all the time, that was my favorite.

I have read the books and enjoyed them, but didn't make it to the movie yet. My 13 year old daughter, on the other hand, went last night with friends and went again this morning. Hopefully she is Twilighted-out for the moment!:) She really enjoyed it both times...

Went last night with the 15 year old emos.......alot of laughing....on my part....not sure if it was meant to be as funny as I found it but I chuckled alot especially at the beginning. Akwardness at it's height. I thought it was a good time....didn't read the book on purpose but bought it for xmas for dd. I am looking forward to borrowing it from her though!:thumbsup2

I just got back from seeing the movie. I read the book a couple of weeks ago and I have to say that I enjoyed it and the movie. I'm glad I read the book first because it fleshed out the movie more for me. The Oregon scenery was gorgeous too.

I went with an open mind and didn't allow myself to be critical, just got into the movie and the relationship between Bella and Edward which I thought was well done. I even got a little teary eyed at the end. After reading all the reviews, I was surprised that I liked Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson in the parts and I found them quite believeable.

I love the supernatural genre so this series of books and movie are right up my ally.

I went with my DD 14, we both read the books and enjoyed the movie. The only part I thought was irrealistic , was the make-up. The vampires at the begining looked like they were mimes. But it toned down in the middle of the movie. Jasper did look like Edouard sissor hands and we didn't expect Laurent to be a black dude and Eric to be asian. (not a racist comment, we just didn't picture them that way).

I had to laugh when I read this - my girlfriends and I giggled every time that Jasper came on screen. We were actually referring to him as Edward Scissor Hands as well :rotfl2: Another low budget moment was when Jacob's dad (can't remember his name), drives past Bella and gives her the wierdest look. We all just burst out laughing. The same scene was played again in the credits, so we got double the chuckle value :lmao: Negativity aside, we all looooooved Edward! He made the movie worth every single penny. Being that we are all in our 40's....is this wrong?:rolleyes1

I've seen it six times  ....and loved it each time.:lovestruc

I think "obsessed" isn't nearly strong enough a word.

I too thought it ended much too soon, and while there were changes made, I thought they were great. I would have liked more screen time with the Cullens, but I'm keeping my fingers crossed that the DVD will have a whole lot of deleted scenes

we didn't expect Laurent to be a black dude

I read an interview with the actor who played Laurent, that when he was faced with criticism from fans when he was cast (they were mad because he was described as being "olive skinned" in the book), he came back with the response "there are black olives aren't there?" I can't claim that as a direct quote since I can't remember the exact wording, but I was so impressed with that comment!

Took DD12 and knew very little about the books (accept that human falls in kove with vampire) and I AM HOOKED - reading all of the books now. Also ended up taking DD after seeing it once and establishing hat it is not too scary or inappropriate. She wants to the ready the books when she is ready also.

It's kind of a HSM thing - totally high school girl appeal but I compare it to how I felt when I saw The Outsiders or Grease as a kid. It was a great film and I can't wait for the others to be made.

The kids want to see it a hundred times so save your cash and view it in full and good quality at tvshack.com (not sure if I am allowed to say this....).
