Add me to the list of disboutiquers looking for prayers and good thoughts.

I had a follow-up appointment today with my reproductive endocrinologist.

I know how hard it is to deal with infertility.

Update on my brother--I found out last night that his eye was all bandaged up because they scratched his cornea! How the heck does that happen with abdominal surgery??? They were not managing his pain well last night, and were not following the protocol they had agreed to before the surgery.

I haven't heard an update yet this morning. I've been trying to wait and let Dennis call first. I'm getting antsy waiting. I need to get in the shower and I'm sure as soon as I do, he'll call.

On the happy front, my DH is coming home from London tonight. He was in Boston last week, came home late Sunday night and left again 5:30 Monday morning for London. I'll be SO happy when he gets back. I don't think he has any more trips for awhile. I hate when he travels.
(Yes, I know that that seems like a short trip to London, but his #@%#& company actually sent him to London once for a 1 hour meeting. I kid you not.) They've wanted to move us over there for several years, and we don't want to go.

I was wondering if anyone else filled out the application for the 50 under $50 for YCMT? I am going to be on Team Kris. I did spy Tom's name on Team Carla.

I can't believe that I was chosen!:cool2:
:yay: :yay: I am so glad to be on Team Carla! :yay: :yay:

Congratualation Crystal! I am excited to see what everyone comes up with!

I GOT IN TOO!! I am sooooo excited!! I am on team Sherri, was hoping for Carla, but thrilled to have gotten in!! From what I ave seen so far Sherri is great! Tom got in also, he is on Carla's team too!

I thought it was such a long shot, so I am so excited!! I can't believe so many of us got in!

here are my bandana pants.

they took me like 20 minutes to do, they aren't perfect but I made them and my DS wore them proudly in the house this morning since outside we are freezing!

I'm keeping all those who've asked (and one who said she didn't think they'd help) in my thoughts.

Here's my latest creation I made for a little boy's birthday.

Which reminds me...I need a little help from some mice...Hey, I cut out and sewed together the stip parts for the Monsters Inc. skirt today! I'm trying to decide if I should attempt a Mike Wizowski applique myself. I need to go to your TR and check yours out again! I'm in trip planning mode!

Do it! Mike isn't really too hard. He's one of the first things I ever appliqued. Actually, I'm working on another Monsters, Inc set right now, too! Here's the set I did last year:

I'm trying to make this one different, but I'm stuck - I still have some of the same fabrics that I want to use, so I gotta do some brainstorming. . .

Lisa- That is fantastic. The Wonder Pets have been on all morning in our house!!! We bought The Wonder Pets Save the Nutcracker. You have not lived until you have heard TWP sing to the Nutcracker! LOL:rotfl2:

My DH travels a lot too, sometimes I hate it and other times I don't mind it. I really feel like him being gone one night a week is healthier for all of us! But more than a night and my girls really miss him!

I'm originally from Illinois but live in Dallas now. What part of Illinois are you in?

I do not make fun. I just think of you (and/or Lily) every time I see polka dots. At JoAnn on Friday, I though, ohhhh Jeanne would like this, or maybe that- all polka dots. I love them too, just don't work really well on boys (says the mommy who makes her boys try on dresses. . .)
My tomboy thinks polka dots are too girly too and I LOVE them.

Which leads me to the next thing...my dryer died last week so I got a new set!:cool1: Okay...I know not that exciting but it is to me...my last set was old! So, we sprung for the Duet Sport models and I LOVE THEM!!!! The dryer is soooo fast! And the washer uses hardly any water! LOVE IT!!!!(no these will not fit in the minivan! Just the old set!)

Hmmm...what else...oh...I have to go camera shopping AGAIN! The kids...not sure which one...smashed the screen on the back of my camera!:headache: I am not happy! I just bought that thing in May! Ugh! But...I was thinking of upgrading before next year anyway...now I just have to do it early!

Other than that...life has been boring! I have started working on Christmas presents...I am trying to make as many as I can this year to save a little money...we shall see!

Okay...back to reading! :goodvibes
Congrats on the new washer/dryer. I love my front loader washer.

Good luck camera shopping. And with Christmas presents. What are you making?

HEY! That looks great! Now I'm scared to finish mine. It will not be nearly as cool! I love the fabrics you used. That Monster's Inc. fabric is tricky to match! I ended up using some simple purple and green from Walmart. I'll be doing well, miracles even, to just get a Mike Wizowski on the tee shirt!

Love the wonder pets outfit!

FYI - anone interested in making legwarmers, Target has 3 pks of ladies knee socks for $6. Cute colors too - pinks, reds, Christmas colors! They also had the red and white stripe - with the fur attatched!! (I thought Aimee added the fur on to a pair of socks!) I'm going to try them ut tonigh and see if DD likes the legwarmers!

ETA - Ebay had a pair (just like the ones Aimee posted) for over $15. Very cute - but waaaay cheaper to make a pair.

   I just...um...rebooked my trip!   We are now staying on-site! We will be at the POR February 7-16! :cheer2: :dance3: :cool1: :yay: My sister decided to come along and we were able to put 1 kid in her room so we didn't have to get 2 rooms! Now I just need to get someone to rent this 2 bedroom condo (sleeps 8) from me...it's going cheap! :rolleyes1

Bummer! I didn't know there was an application. I must not have been paying attention. It won't be the first time I missed some important information!

LOL!! I saw that listing too. I friend showed it too me. I guess the seller has been lurking on the DIS!!! :rotfl2: Yes, the socks are from Tarjay. I thought I mentioned it before but I guess not. Sorry!!! I think they were about $5 so a three pack for $6 is great! Maybe I will have to slip over to Target tomorrow.

I noticed that all of the *older* girls at ballet had on legwarmers last night. When I say older I mean 9 years old. The have a strict dress code so the leg warmers had to be pink to match their tights.

The legwarmers are unbelievably easy to make. I bought another pair of tube socks with pink and purple stripes from Walmart for $1.50. They are really cute and would be perfect for a Hannah Montana custom. The colors also match the Smores fabric. Oh and they took 5 minutes to make!

Speaking of fur . . . Does anyone know how to make fur cuffs? I cannot crochet and really would like to make a pair.

Several of you have mentioned being intimidated by the Feliz pattern. Well, here's your chance to give it a shot. Caroline is going to do a Feliz sew-along on her blog, and she should be starting in the next few days.

Thanks for the link! I can decide if I want to attempt the dress!

That is really cool! Did you get the nifty free night deal? I found out the $200 gift card can go towards any Disney Merchandise or Restaurants. I asked if the Bibbity Bobbity Boutique and Pirate and Princess Party was included. Yeppers!!!!!

Congrats on the new washer/dryer. I love my front loader washer.

Good luck camera shopping. And with Christmas presents. What are you making?

Here is the list I am working on...

My Granny...the one that sews and has been pretty ill lately...I am making her a bag and a lap quilt. She gets cold at church and she complained to me about it. This will be my first quilt...little nervous!

My Grandma...she sew too....just not as much and when she does...she LOVES polyester!:scared1: Kills me! But anyway, I am making her a walker bag (on the bookmarks!) and a lap quilt.

My BFF's kids...one a Hannah Montana outfit with the famous guitar! and for her boy a bowling shirt...not sure but maybe transformers?

My aunt and uncle that I NEVER see except at Christmas...the cute little coasters.

Mom...really stumped on her....thinking maybe a quilt but not sure?

My cousin, a bag.

My kids...Jedi robes.

There is more...I can't remeber and my list is downstairs and I am entirely too lazy to go get it now!:lmao: But, as I complete stuff I'll take pictures...with my broke camera! It still takes pics, you just kinda have to hope you are facing in the right direction and hope it is clear! LOL!:sad2:

And yes...LOVE LOVE LOVE my new washer and dryer!!!

Okay, more help needed. My mind just isn't working on these overalls. Here is the top and I need to figure out wha to put on the leg or legs. I was hoping to just rip open one leg and leave the other undone, but they are size 4T and the legs are SUPER long and that is why I think everything looks weird I have thought of!

100_8514.jpg

I think maybe a saying on one leg and was thinking a tree on the other, but all suggestions welcome. But I need a saying, I like 5 letters max usually. I have thought of Ho Ho Ho or Mickey, Joy, Noel, but the last two seem girly (these are for a boy). So thoughts! Merry Christmas is TOO long!

And because Mickey looks weird (I need to fix his mouth) but I decided he looks cuter on a t, here is a cute non weird looking picture.

Hi Friends,

Seems the little boy shared the joy of his sinus infection with me:eek: I am ok and it will go away soon.

My sewing machine is making big loops on the bottom of the fabric. I have read it is the tension but what do I do? Increase of decrease? When sewing on the thicker fabrics what should I be doing with the tension?

Urg, I hate having to learn all over again.

Here's my latest creation I made for a little boy's birthday.

th_wonder_pets1.jpg

Very cute! It's hard for me to think of things for boys. I would much rather be making dresses.

Love Monsters Inc. Great job.

My DH travels a lot too, sometimes I hate it and other times I don't mind it. I really feel like him being gone one night a week is healthier for all of us! But more than a night and my girls really miss him!

I'm originally from Illinois but live in Dallas now. What part of Illinois are you in?

We live in Saint Charles. We lived in Houston for 4 years and loved it. We're planning on moving again within 4 years, and right now San Antonio is at the top of our list.

Oh I just remebered that I never shared Timmy's birthday pics...I know you were all on the edge of your seat waiting!:lmao:

So here we go...

the birthday boy
PB050135.jpg

His cake...Agent P....this is the ONLY fondant cake I have ever made, so don't laugh!
PB050139.jpg

Just because he is cute...we hid his presents while he was eating cake because he kept peaking in the bags...this was his reaction!:lmao:
