Attire for Narcoossee's?

DH and I will be eating at Narcoossee's for the first time this trip. What is the dress code like? Would khaki capris be okay after a day in the park? DH normally wears polo shirts and khaki shorts in the parks.

LOL! Today when I made my ADR there, the man told me, no bathing suits, tank tops or torn clothing. LOL!! I think I am safe, I won't be wearing my bathing suit to dinner. He said Business casual.

I wore a sleeveless dress and DH wore khaki shorts and a polo shirt. He wore sneakers and was fine.

Business casual? Hah! I we ate there last week. The customers were no better dressed than any other sit down restaurant in Disney!

Huh, glad I saw this. We're having our anniversary dinner there in December and I was going to dress up a bit. Now I'll tone it down. We don't want to look all overdressed.

You won't be overdressed. If dressing up makes your evening feel more special than go for it. IMO a lot of people that attend the signature restaurants at Disney are underdressed, although they are probably within Dinsney's very leniant dress code.

It's definantly a range of looks there... You see people in suits and dresses as well as people in nascar t-shirts and sweat suits... When we go we usually are in the middle... Khaki pants/capris, a nice polo shirt or long sleeved dress shirt.

But don't worry about under or over dressing... do whatever makes you feel comfortable.

My gf was horrified about being under dressed and then we saw people in T-shirts.

Interesting. I was crossing this restaurant off my list since I assumed I couldn't pull off the dress code straight from a day at the parks and won't work a trip back to my resort into my schedule. If I dress right for the park, maybe I can go. Is Artist Point equally lenient?

As to the whole "No bathing suits" thing, I always wondered why they said that because it would never occur to me to do such a thing. Well we were getting of the elevator from Ca Grill a few months back, and there was a family standing at the podium in their bathing suits and tank tops. I nearly laughed out loud, but it definitely explained why the disclaimer. I've considered Disney my second home for 25 years, but that was definitely a first for me

I think I posted this when I got back from my trip last May, but I'll post it again. When I was checking in for my ADR at Yatchsman Steakhouse last May, there was a lady and two kids trying to check in ahead of me. She was wearing a bikini with a white lace coverup that was see through, but did come down to her knees. Her son was in board swimming trunks, tank top, and flip flops, the teenage daughter was wearing a one piece swimsuit with a long white boho type skirt over it and flip flops. All three had wet hair, like they had just come from the pool. I'm not sure, but their swimsuits may have also been damp. The hostess had to tell them they were not dressed appropriately and the woman became irate, saying her and the daughter's swimsuits were covered up and they were fine. A manager was called, but they were not allowed in. I think that's the first time I ever seen anyone turned away from a WDW restuarant.

To the OP: I've worn nice capris and also worn a dress to Narcoosee and was fine in both.

dahirsh: Yes--they are as lenient at Artist Point. The "code" is the same at all the Signature restaurants.

Call me snobby, but I agree with that for the signature restaraunts you should at least try a bit... polo shirts for a guy or a nice top for a girl with khakis or jeans...

I'm not saying three piece suits... but I don't know I think you should wear more than a t-shirt. Is that snobby?

Thanks everyone. I remember when The Coral Reef used to be more of a fancier restaurant. Last time we went there to eat...I wore a cute skirt and top and DH dressed up, just to find people in jeans shorts and tees. Not that there is anything wrong with that, but I think DH would have preferred not to walk through EPCOT in dress clothes. Oh well...like someone said above...it was our anniversary and we had a good time. It just astonishes me sometimes what people wear out in public.
