Tell me about Marrekesh for dinner...

Just made an ADR for here on 12/5. Our flight times were changed and I had to cancel our original ADR at Whispering Canyon .

This was the only thing I could get between 6:30 and 7:45 at WS.

What do you think???? I don't see very much on it!

Had dinner here on our trip in 2006. We loved the experience. The food was excellent. My husband and I ordered the feast, which is basically a little sample of everything on the menu. We were soooo stuffed after the meal, and wished we had shared one of them, instead of getting 2 as the waitress requested. The belly dancers and the music was a great plus of dining here. Unfortunately, we weren't able to get ADRs at Marrekesh on our trip this September, but we will definitely return on our next trip.

We LOVED it there. Everything about it! The food was sooo good. We went last year for the first time and we are returning in a few weeks!

Another thread a month or two ago had some pretty detailed info on Marrakesh. Reviews were mostly favorable as I recall. I've never been, but it's on my list for next trip.

I didn't know there were belly dancers...I bet my boys (16, 14)will get a kick out of that, and of course, DH!

As a bellydancer, who has had her share of both the cuisine and the entertainment, I give Marrakesch a thumbs up! The food was excellent, the entertainment (though brief when we were there) was very good, and the server was sweet and unobtrusive. I wish we could have been there when it was busier--the place was dead when we went in Sept, and I love to be surrounded by hustle and bustle in restaurants like that.

Give it a try!

Thanks for your replies!!! I've gone from being a little worried that it was the only TS in Epcot available to being VERY excited to try a new place!

This trip is loaded with 'firsts' for us. It sounds like a great place to start our trip!

We LOVE this restaurant. It always has availability probably because most people dont realize it is there. It is totally hidden in the back of Morocco.

We have walked up there for a dinner in August with no problem.

The food is great and atmosphere is fun!

I'm so relieved to read these replies. This is where we're having dinner on Christmas Day. I was a little bummed that we couldn't get into Coral Reef, LeCellier or Teppan Edo, but we did just make our travel plans about a week ago. I kept calling to see if anything opened up for any of the others, but I told my DDs that this may just become one of our new favorites.

If nothing else, we'll be at WDW on Christmas Day!!!!!!!!!

We're heading down to WDW on 11/28 for one week. We have an ADR at Marrakesh. I can't wait to eat there. I don't think I mentioned to Hubby Dude that they have a Belly Dancer there. He'll just have to be surprised. Do they allow you to take pictures in there?

My family loved Marrakesh. I am a very picky eater but easily found things to eat here. We can't wait to go back. The entertainment was great food was great and the atmosphere/decor was wonderful.

We highly recommend this place.

We ate there this Sept. for lunch. Still had the belly dancers. Food was good. And we had several servers come by, probably because my DD kept grabbing there hands(dd 2 yrs). They all were very sweet to her, writing her name out for her, and talking about Morocco. They have some nice sampler plates just ask questions, because some of the samplers plates have appetizers so you have to pay extra. I found that to be a little confusing, but the servers were very good at helping.

We did 9 TS meals at WDW in August and my husband said Marrakesh was his favorite. (Including Cali Grill)

He had the Shish Kebab meal and from the 2 bites I was able to steal I have to agree with him. It was tender, flavorful and the sides on the plate complimented it perfectly..including couscous and humus...YUM!!!
My sons had the lamb and while they liked it they claim to did not LOVE it. They didn;t leave much behind though I chose to have the soup and a beef brewat roll as my meal...two favorites of mine.

The combo plates (feasts) are available on the regular DDP. They simply cost an additional $5.95 per person because they include an appietizer which is not usually allowed on the ddp. It is nice of them to allow the small upcharge for this feature. Feasts that show a per-person price can not be shared. (total bummer...my son wanted to order it and share with me.)

Marrakesh is a must do for us every trip. Enjoy!!

My feelings are a little mixed....

On our honeymoon, loved it and couldn't wait to go back. Since our experiance we and now our two kids love Moroccan food. We were back over Spring Break in '06 with the kids this time. Couldn't wait to share with them one of our favorite meals. Unfortunatly, both kids being on the meal plan got to choose between Morrocan macaroni and Morrocan spagetti (come on ) To say the least they were not impressed. Our food was bland and was not what we remembered it. We haven't gone back since. Granted things may have gotten better, and I have since heard that they could have made the kids something more authentic, but it wasn't offered back then.

The atmospher is beautiful and the belly dancing is wonderful. So, if you are up for it, it may be a wonderful experiance. Sounds like it has been for others.

as someone of middle eastern descent who regularly eats this kind of food (I know morocco is north african ), I have to say marrakesh was just okay. My chicken kebabs were decent. My husband had the one vegetarian dish on the menu and it wasn't great. but the atmosphere is fun and the music and dancing are fun. I'm glad I tried it once, but I probably won't be back. The couscous was a little sweet to me and and chicken was really really heavily olive flavored.

We were just there last week and I enjoyed it. I had the "Night in Casablanca" and though the lamb was well prepared but the chicken could have been more spiced. My wife had some sort of beef kabob which, while a little chewy, was VERY flavorful.

I was a little underwhelmed with the Bastilla (sp?) dessert. Basically giant slightly sweet corn flakes with a faintly vanilla cream on top. May be suitably ethnic, but lacking as a dessert I had the baklava later on and it was MUCH better.

The belly dancer was very nice, not nearly as sensual as others I've seen (there are some comments here likening her performance to a stripper) but of course I doubt it was the same dancer. Did see the same girl a few nights later performing outside at the close of F&W (to a HUGE male audience

A perhaps unknown tip, Jasmine, Addadin AND the Genie were doing a signing in a little room just in front of the restaurant entrance. Almost NO ONE there, so my neices got to take all sorts of pics with them. It pays to wander around while waiting to be seated
