My DH and I will be celebrating our 5th anniversary next year and was planning to eat at a nice restaurant , I was thinking of cinderella's royal table since we have never eaten there. Do you know if they do anything special for anniversary's? Is there any other places you would recommend to eat? Please keep in mind we will be dining with my son and at that time he will be about 2 yrs old ( i know what youre thinking she is taking her son!) but i could never leave him behind especially if we are going to the happiest place on earth!

Are you looking for a buffet or all you can eat? CRT is nice since it is in the castle and children like it. For buffets, we enjoyed Boma at AK Lodge, it is unique cuisine, and they have children's choices and it is kid-friendly but nice. Biergarten is also great at Epcot, and they have live entertainment during dinner hours (German buffet and also kid-friendly). The Crystal Palace at MK is also great for children, is a buffet and had delicious food. Beautiful inside too. My one-year-old and 3-year-old both enjoyed all of the above places, except CRT because we did not go there!

If you are looking for a la carte, you could try one of the signature restaurants like Cal. Grill, Yachtsman's Steakhouse or Flying Fish Cafe. Or Le Cellier steakhouse in Epcot which is not a signature restaurant but many people rave about it. Enjoy your trip and Happy Anniversary!!

I wasn't thinking that at all. We never went anywhere w/o our DS, when he was younger. We chose places that we'd all enjoy. Sadly, there will be plenty of time to eat at the nicer places, when he's older. Anyway, I think CRT is a nice balance of a bit romantic & very child friendly. It sounds like a great choice to me. :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

ETA: Forgot to add that CRT has a few things you can order for special occasions. You can probably get the number to call & inquire from the front page of the cake thread.

CRT is a great idea. The atmosphere is wonderful, very pretty and romantic but still child-friendly. Yachtsman Steakhouse, Narcoosees or Artist Point are all very nice as well, quiet and romantic but not so upscale that a well-behaved child would be unwelcome or out of the ordinary. And if you don't mind a little more of a bustling atmosphere, California Grill is wonderful but a bit noisy.

And I don't think you're odd at all for taking your son; we didn't leave our kids with anyone but family when they were that small, so we certainly wouldn't have gotten a sitter while on vacation.

So has anyone actually dined at CRT on their anniv. and did they do anything special? Or is that something you have to plan on your own?

We've eaten at almost every restaurant multiple times, here are my quick thoughts:

bluezoo-we have eaten here twice. Loved it both times. Very "metro" feeling (think NYC), but amazing service, food, and atmosphere. Drinks were great, bread was great too! Innovative menu. Eric was a great server. We had a wonderful anniversary here.

Flying Fish-we liked it but wouldn't recommend for anniversary. The food wasn't as good as other restaurants.

California Grill-Always a good standard. Get resies at the right time and view the fireworks!

Artist Point-good, but wouldn't rush to go back.

Victoria and Alberts-This is an event. Plan to make an evening of it. Go here for a one-of-a-kind experience. $$$$$$$$$ but we enjoyed ourselves a few times here. Impeccable from top to bottom. The wine pairing is worth it, but heavy pours!!

Narcoossee: This would be my recommendation. After avoiding this restaurant for many years (who knows why, DW had a bad impression for some reason). We went here last trip and loved it. Great food, Great service, Great atmosphere. Not too fancy, not too casual. Think Goldilocks (just right).

Jiko-Unique food, comfy atmosphere, good service and wine.

As an aside, a great little place to grab a drink is at the Crew's Cup over at the Yacht/Beach club. Cozy and "clubbie".

We are going for our anniversary soon and taking both of our kids. I wanted to do CRT, but decided not to. We ate there last year and I wasn't all that impressed. We'll be having our anniversary dinner at Crystal Palace! lol, so romantic right! We want to make it fun for the kids too! :)

I agree, from what I have read (never been there myself) this sounds like more of an event not just a dining experience. In any case you won't be able to take your child with you to this one because you have to be at least 10 to dine here per Disney's website.

Guests ages 10 and above are invited to dine at this establishment.

Narcoosees is nice! Its a seafood place, but my faince loved the steak.

We will be celebrating our 15th anniversary when we go down in May and I have had several people recommend Narcoosees, even the CM I was talking to highly recommended it for an anniversary, she said the food was good and it was romantic, by the water, in the GF. Also, I am quite certain being in the GF you may order the castle cake from their bakery! I am going to try to do that and see about a bottle of champagne and Mickey Mouse champagne glasses. :goodvibes We also will be dining with a little one, our five year old...atleast we will not have our then 21, almost 20 and 20 and almost 19 year olds tagging along.

Congratualations on your anniversary!:flower3:
