Bonnie and Jay's Disney Wonder VR!

Okay, this whole planning journal thing is all new to me, but I love reading everyone else's and decided to do my own. My family will be taking our first cruise 10/31/10 on the Disney Wonder. It's only a 4 night cruise, but I thought it would be a good way to break us into cruising! We are also going to stay on land for 3-4 days after the cruise. Anyway, a bit about our history:

Jay and I have been married for 11 years. We currently have 3 beautiful children, 2 boys ages 10 and 7, and our 5 year old Princess. We have our 3rd boy on the way, due in March! I guess we only have room for one Cinderella in our house!!

When we were engaged, we moved our wedding up 3 times because my mother was terminally ill. Jay's mother already passed away, so both of us knew the importance of my mother being able to be present. We had very little money, but were able to pull it off. It certainly was not the wedding of my dreams, but definitely could've been worse! The biggest downfall was that we only had one night for our honeymoon, and my mother wound up in the hospital the night of our wedding. So, the night of our wedding was spent in the ER with my mother at 2:00 AM.

We were relatively young when we got married, only 23. I found out our first baby was on the way only 2 weeks after our wedding. Needless to say, we didn't get much time alone before the babies started coming! We started having a lot of difficulties over time and had split up a few times. Thankfully we were able to work things out over the years. For about the last 4 years I wanted to renew our vows to erase some of the bad and to refresh our relationship. At first my sister-in-law suggested we go to Virginia Beach and do it on the beach and her family would go too. That was in 2004. Every year she keeps putting off the vacation for some excuse or another. We took our first trip to WDW in April 2008 and she's still putting off Virginia Beach! Jay said we can take another big trip in 2 years, so that's when I booked the cruise. I thought, hey, it gives me 2 years to pay on it! Then I found my way to DIS boards when I was researching DCL. I started reading everyone's planning journals for their weddings and vow renewals. Then it hit me, that what would be better than to just have my closest family who means the most there with us as we renew our vows on the Wonder? Our children of course:love:

This is going to be a surprise for my whole family. It will definitely be the "honeymoon" we never got to go on. I don't need a lot of fancy things and I'm not buying a new wedding dress. I developed thyroid cancer 8 years ago and have struggled to lose some baby weight since then. My main goal after having this baby is to really work on getting rid of it, and even just fitting into a little white dress would suit my fancy and I would be thrilled!!

I'm looking forward to planning for these next 2 years....although it's going to KILL me to wait that long!! I'm thankful for any information that veteran Disney brides can give me for tips on ways to save some money on things!! I'll post some pics soon of my family on our first Disney trip and I'll keep you posted on my progress!
