Live from WDW, Nicki & Todd do the F&W and 10 days worth of food!!!

First, :bday: :bday: :bday: :bday: friend. Hope you are having the most magical trip (although from what you've posted already, I am sure you are). We are definitely going to do Boma next year--just can't decide when to squeeze a breakfast in...maybe departure day.

I'm sorry you didn't love Boma :sad1: At least you tried, and did find somethings that you enjoyed :) DS loves it there, but all he really eats there is plate after plate of strawberries :rotfl: I'm sure DD will chime in soon on her love of cocomisu ;)

So this morning, we were up, checked in, got on the bus and took the back road into the park. You get on 2 buses from the resort and 2 trucks once in the park. We were on the second truck and saw a scazillion animals. DH was in heaven because the giraffes are his fav and 2 of them walked right up to the truck, almost stuck his head in the window at us! Many of the animals were super close to us, it was awesome and I would do it again in a heartbeat! Here are a few pics:

:yay: :yay: :yay: :yay: Happy Birthday!!! :yay: :yay: :yay: :yay:

I love your trip report!!!! I keep laughing at your "if I could marry Boma breakfast" comment and my 4 year old wants to know why I keep laughing!!!! :rotfl2:

Have a fabulous day!!

What a bummer about Boma. We have a breakfast there (early, of course...LOL!) I'm wondering how that is.... I guess we'll see......

Love the booze pictures! What was the fruit cream like? Was it like a rum cream? (I've had that before.)

Can't wait to hear more!!! (looks like the sunrise safari was fun!)

Our tour ended after 9am and we headed to Pizzari to a private room for our buffet breakfast. You are checked in and seated at reserved table. The back of the place has tropical juices, OJ, Tea, Coffee and water. The center is a circle buffet. NO ONE is to help themselves until everyone has arrived and the chef addresses all of us.

DH went to get coffee, again it was a BLECH blend of arabica beans :rotfl: and OJ and he was sweet enough to bring me a red currant hot tea and guava juice.

The buffet was jammed with 60 people so I couldnt get into get food much less pictures of it! They did not replenish any of the food either so if you do this tour load up your plates the first time around or you are S.O.L

There was a fruit salad, pastries, cinnamon rolls, fried plantains, french toast sticks, berry cobbler, the most to die for carmelized bananas on puffed french toast (like at CP), ham with pineapple, kielbasa with peppers and onions, sausage rounds, potatoes with peppers and onions, bacon, western omelet, biscuits and gravy, scrambled eggs. This was pretty good but you could tell the food was sitting for a while.

Here are our plates, juices and fruit

And that is it for now, I think I am all caught up on the food reviews but there are still a ton to come. Have no idea what we are doing now, I think I will go out and animal watch on the balcony....I am sure the King will want lunch at some point and of course Jiko dinner which I am so excited to try!

On another note, last night at Epcot, wowza it was a nut house. The lines for the F&W kiosks were over 25 people deep, people were walking around all over the place, it was just loaded. We are going to Epcot tomorrow early, I find the food stands are not busy during the day so that is our lunch plans, I think!

The CL pics look great! Isn't it nice to have that lounge available :thumbsup2

Can't wait for the Boma dinner review and the Sunrise Safari. Really really looking forward to the Jiko review  since we'll be trying it for the first time in December :goodvibes

Having the lounge is a great thing! Wish I could do it all the time!

Thanks Kat! I will never give up my Boma breakfasts, they are just too darn good!

I know I am bummed about it too. Oh well there are lots of other things to try. Funny about your DS, there was a little boy next to us and all he ate was a plate of strawberries and one zebra dome...he dad was going nuts!

:yay: :yay: :yay: :yay: Happy Birthday!!! :yay: :yay: :yay: :yay:

Have a fabulous day!!

Thank you! I laugh out loud at some of the comments on the DIS too!

What a bummer about Boma. We have a breakfast there (early, of course...LOL!) I'm wondering how that is.... I guess we'll see......

The Boma breakfasts are insane, I have a ton of pics on my Aug link if you want to check it out.

The cream was awesome, like a rum cream but has a sweetness to it that is not too sweet. Even DH liked it. He drank a Couvosier (sp?) and that was like lighter fluid to me but he liked it.

Hey! there's the food! LOL!

I wonder if I need to bring my own coffee with me... (I should change the title of my foodie to "The search for REAL COFFEE!!!!" ) Oh well....I do love strong breakfast tea also... maybe we'll find that.

Ick on the food being left out for a while.... I can't believe they didn't refill some of the popular items, that's just sad. It all looks okay, and edible... :)

Can't wait to hear more! (only 65 more hours til we're on our way!!! yup, I'll be down to the minute soon....LOL! :lmao: )

Well HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!! The sunrise safari sounds like a perfect way to start the day. Your pictures are amazing. I especially like the hippo eating and the baby giraffe. That is definitely going on my "someday" wish list. Sorry it's too cool for pool weather... I'm sure you'll find something equally awesome to do. Enjoy! And thanks for sharing your trip with us! :goodvibes

Really loving your reviews. The pictures of the CL lounge are great they took me right back there.
And I'm pleased you enjoyed the Sunrise Safari, it was one of the highlights of our trip.

First, HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!! :bday: What a great way to celebrate! I love your reviews, so keep them coming...popcorn::

Happy birthday Nicki from one Libra to another! :goodvibes

I have to thank you for the suggestions for Boma breakfast and Grand Floridian Cafe breakfast - both were excellent and as soon as Jay gets the pictures organized I'll start posting our reviews.

As for F&W ... whatever you do avoid the $8.25 cocktail in Poland - it's a poisonous rip-off! And they screwed up the plum tea wine cooler in China, too, and now it tastes like pure syrup ... BLECH!

Have a great trip and thanks as always for updating us while you're living the Disney food love!

Happy Birthday Nicki

I hope you have a magical birthday. Love your pictures of the sunrise safari, esp the baby giraffe.:goodvibes Hope you enjoy your dinner at Jiko tonight. Looking forward to more of your reviews . :)

:bday: :drinking1 :cake: pixiedust:

:bday: Yeah! I LOVE your trip reports!!! :thumbsup2 Count me in popcorn::

As I was reading your Boma review I reached for the phone to call WDW-DINE and cancel our Boma dinner and change it to Kona Cafe.

Honestly, there's nothing that interests me on the Boma menu. I'd hate to go there from the YC and not enjoy our meal. Everyone raves about it, but I know I'm not going to like it. Thanks for your review. I think we'll all be happier at the Kona Cafe. We haven't been there in about 9 years!

Hey, heard any reviews about the Brown Derby for dinner?? I'm not loving the dinner menu. I have an ADR there and can't change it. 50's PT and Mama Melrose are booked! It's insane trying to change ADRs during T-giving week!!

Hope you enjoy Jiko and have a wonderful birthday :flower3:

:cake: party: :bday: party: :cake:

Happy Birthday!

Thanks for the Boma dinner review. Just last night I was bummed because we don't have it planned for January...not so bummed anymore! I think we'll just stick to breakfast there! :yay:

How can you not love cocomisu! The stuff's amazing, but then again, tiramisu and coconut are two of my favorite things (especially tiramisu--for breakfast :) )

Hey, heard any reviews about the Brown Derby for dinner?? I'm not loving the dinner menu. I have an ADR there and can't change it.

Brown Derby=my absolute favorite. The pork's amazing, it doesn't matter how they have it and with which sides, it's always amazing. :worship: And the desserts are good, and that's what counts :)

The food, oh boy the food. Meals on vacation are a super important thing to us and that is because I cook all of our meals just about every single day. I make our breakfasts, pack our lunches and cook our dinners. We go out to eat maybe twice a month and one time might be a pizza! We do this not only to save money(which it saves alot!) not only because we are very busy people and this is easier but because, well I am a darn good cook :thumbsup2
When on vacation we love to try different places, love to find new favorites and visit old ones too. LOVE to have different cocktails and most of all I love the planning. Seriously I really enjoy looking over the menus and reading all the fantastic reviews that fellow DISers write and am tickled pink over the pictures. I will make DH sit down and look at it all and he says, yeah put me down for that!

I have learned so much fantastic information on this board it is crazy. We have been going to WDW since 93 and did not know about school bread until 05! I know that is ridiculous but I had no idea that Norway had such wonderful pastries! :confused3

Our reservations have changed more times than I can count. When my 180 day mark was set I was on the phone at 7am and in 20 minutes time I had everything I wanted, or so I thought. Over the last 6 months I have changed things around so many times it is dizzying and DH has been the entire reason why, ok that was not entirely true but he doesnt read these boards so he wont know I said it! :rolleyes1

The last 3 trips that we went on DH has changed our dining plans at the last minute. I do not complain although inside my entire body is tingling with irritation ..... I mean come on where was his opinion BEFORE the trip?? ;) That being said I do not expect all of our dining plans to be set in stone, I do anticipate DH cancelling some of them and adding in something else and that is ok because there are a few that I refuse to cancel and he knows it because on my itinerary those places are written in bold large red font that has a disclaimer....it reads:

"IF YOU TRY TO CANCEL THIS RESERVATION THAT IS GROUNDS FOR DIVORCE"

So needless to say he takes me seriously! :goodvibes

I do the exact same thing.. change things.. change resorts.. change dinning... add, subtract, multiply... :rotfl:
Nice to know someone else in this world does the same exact thing..
