Atlantic Dance Hall...what is it now...?

Okay, so near the top of my "I wish this place was what it once was" is Atlantic Dance Hall. When it opened, it was this Big band Era club, with live bands and cigars...themed right up my alley. But that was long ago, and now I hear next to nothing about it. I read that it is now a Top 40 club when it is open, but I never hear of anyone who goes.

Now that PI is closed, I wonder if it will pick up. Between that and JellyRolls, they are the only nightclub type places left on property! So I am hopeful that these two locations will be good times for all going forward.

So has anyone been to Atlantic Dance Hall in recent months? Can you report on if it is alive and kicking or in its own death throes? What is the scene like? Music? Prices? I want any and all deets you may have.:confused3

DH and I were there in July and it was dead. Maybe 30 people and the place is big so it really looked as if no one was there. They had the upstairs roped off so you couldn't access it. It is really nice in there though and the bartender made killer drinks. The music was OK. The night we went they had the music videos for each song being shown on a big screen on the stage. They played everything from 80's Michael Jackson songs to current top 40. There was no cover charge and the drinks weren't too expensive. I guess that's relative because I am from NY and a drink in NYC clubs will run you $12.(at least) I heard that they plan on renovating ADH. I know it is used as a reception site for Disney Fairy Tale Weddings. I am also curious to see how it will be now that PI is closed.

Clotho,

Dh and I are like you -- we used to love it when it had a big band theme, but that was a long time ago. We haven't been there in years, even though we often stay at the Boardwalk.

Was at the Dolphin last Mon-Wed and I can tell you that it is all conventioneers at Jellyrolls and Atlantic was closed Monday night (Boardwalk was dead) but it was open Tuesday, there were bubbles blowing out of it to try and call people in, and the music was blasting but in total around 100 conventioneers in there. I'm thinking these places cater to the non-Disney crowd.

I guess I can just hope that this will improve as more people come to JellyRolls and the Boardwalk for evening adult entertainment. *sigh*

1) We can only hope.
2) Maybe with the demise of PI, Disney will listen to guests.
3) There are lots of good ideas out there for nighttime entertainment.
4) But, Disney does not accept ideas, and goes on its own thoughts.
