Is this out of the way?

How much out of the way is it to go from the Poly to the Wilderness lodge
(for breakfast at the canyon cafe) and then go to MGM for the day?

Also, how would we get to Wilderness from Poly and to MGM from Wilderness?

Thanks:thumbsup2

monorail to MK, boat or bus to WL. Take their bus to DHS after your meal :thumbsup2

Thanks. One more question.

I was reading another post and I think it said something about that boats run from the Contemporary also, so I guess that would be shorter then going to MK?

Is this really out of the way in your opnion? How long time wise?

DHS?

There is a boat that goes from CR to WL. When we stayed at WL, we used it get to CR for breakfast (it was early, too). I would check to see if it still running, and you could monorail to CR and take the boat ride (short boat ride) from CR to WL.

I would definitely do it. Not too far out of the way at all. Not sure if it's better to get the boat from MK or CR though.

I would agree that this doesn't seem too out of the way. WL is still considered a MK resort so the trip from the Poly isn't too far. Then it's just a bus-ride to DHS which you'd do from the Poly anyway.

But when coming from the Poly, the monorail stops at MK before CR. I am also not sure how often the boats run from CR to WL.

There really is no good way to get from any resort to another on property (unless they are on the monorail loop) so this isn't really out of the way.

I would probably allow at least 45 minutes from the time you leave your room at the Poly to show up at WL (sometimes the boats are slow moving). If you are worried about time you could take a taxi from the Poly straight to WL.

To get to DHS from the WL it shouldn't be any longer than taking the bus from the Poly.

HTH!

All the advice you have been given about boats, busses and monorails is correct. However, I would strongly suggest you just take a cab. We went from the Poly to the WL to visit family, took the monorail and then the boat, and it seemed like it took FOREVER. It was probably just a little less than an hour (we had just missed the boat to the WL), but it was waaaaaay too long for our taste. For our return trip, we just walked out the front door and spent about $7 and 4 minutes in a cab and we were back. I might be a tiny bit off on the cost or the time, as it was 2 years ago, but not much.

I guess it depends on how much extra time you have in getting to your breakfast. Somehow when we're at WDW, we never have enough time. I now pretty much always cab it if I'm going from resort to resort.

As others have said, though, just plan to take the bus to MGM from WL. No problems there.

Have a great trip!

I wanted to second this idea. We went to Kona for breakfast on our last day and wanted to check out Wilderness Lodge since we're staying there for our next trip. We had our car and it's a very short drive since Poly and WL are basically on the same road. I don't think a cab would be that expensive and you would save a lot of time.

I agree with everyone else who said to take a cab to the Wilderness Lodge, because once it leaves the Polynesian it's a straight forward drive when going there.
