We did a 2nt./3day stay mid-Sept. at WL and had one of the best trips ever, okay I guess they're all pretty much the best ever.
We always stay offsite on our travel day then get up early to check in at our resort on our package, while it's usually in Orlando, we decided to try a Hampton Inn located just of the highway in Lake Mary at Colonial Townpark, we had a simple 30-40 min. drive the next day. This was a very nice hotel and I would highly recommend it if any of you do the same thing.
The weather for the entire trip was spectacular as we passed right by Hannah as it was heading north and we were heading south. We checked in at WL at 8am with absolutely no one in line at all, we were greeted by a very nice CM who proceeded to upgrade us to courtyard view. However, we declined and accepted an upgrade to woods view as this room was ready for us immediately, we figured it would be better to have access to our room right away since it was a short stay. Our room had a wonderful view overlooking the villas and quiet pool, we were very happy with our decision.
The crowds were unbelievably light, I mean the likes of which I've never experienced before. I know you run the risk of a hurricane during Sept. but I have to tell you that between the weather, the low season rates and the low crowd levels, this is a great time to go.
WL has become one of our 3 favorite resorts and in our opinion the best deal for a deluxe at Disney and it hasn't let us down yet. Next we're trying a trip this Feb., this will complete our "seasons" at Disney as we've yet to go over winter.
