Comment on new CSR Club Level

OK, we have booked one of CSR's new club rooms in January and I have been trolling this site on a regular basis looking for new information. The changes at CSR were to begin in Oct., so I have been hoping to see pictures of the new bedding and to find out how to utilize the personalized guest services as I need help securing a particular ADR and want help from the concierge. I was looking at the WDW website and just read a concierge level description from AKL that reads different from CSR. Their description say "advanced WDW Intinerary planning" verses CSR that just states "personalized front desk and guest services" (see below). I think the wording has been modified, because when I booked the CSR club room, the description was similiar to the other deluxe concierge levels and I don't recall the word "advanced" in any of the descriptions. I even called one of the IPO offices in Sept. hoping that they would have the phone number for the new CSR IPO office, but nothing had been set-up and recall that when I read the room description to the CM, it was identical to the concierge listing for that property. My conclusion is that CSR may not be offering advanced itinerary planning services, just services while you are there, which IMHO is not really very useful except if you are truly using the room for business purposes like you need someone to fax something or need copies, etc. If anyone else has any new or additional information on the "business" club rooms, please post it here. Thanks.

AKL:The Kilimanjaro Club includes advanced WDW Itinerary Planning service, personalized Front Desk and Concierge service, evening Turndown Service with chocolates, secured Key Access to Club Level floors, exclusive access to the Club Level Lounge, complimentary Health Club access, weekday newspaper delivery of USA Today, complimentary Fax Assistance and exclusive opportunity to book and experience Wildlife Discovery Excursion at Disney's Animal Kingdom. Club Level Lounge refreshments are served from 7:00am to 10:00pm daily.

CSR:Business Club Level services include personalized Front Desk and Guest Services, turndown service and a lounge with continental breakfast, midday snacks and evening wine (additional fee) and cheese. All Business Club Level Rooms have two queen-size beds or one king-size bed, desk and chair, vanity area with sink, a ceiling fan and a bathroom. All rooms are non-smoking. Amenities include DVD player, in-room wall safe, voice mail, data port, hairdryer, iron, ironing board, mini-fridge, robes and coffee maker. A crib is available upon request. Wheelchair-accessible rooms are available. These rooms offer views of the lake, courtyard or parking lot.

I doubt anyone has any really useful information as Club Service does not begin until January 1. Unless JamieLynn who is on here once in a while and works registration, I don't think we'll hear much until someone actually stays Club Service in January.

It's also been posited that the CSR "business club level" was created to make CSR more competitive with the off-property convention hotels. So the "business club level" services may be more geared to business travelers who don't need the same level of "advanced itinerary planning" or ADR assistance as do recreational travelers.

Since AKL is all recreational, its services may differ.

Of course, as KatMark states, all of this is speculation, and even in January, I'm sure there will be some shakedown and debugging going on!

According to JamesLynn, the rehab has not started yet. No one ever said October 1.

I think this is a very good theory.

Disney wants CSR to be a "convention" hotel. However, it's lacking a lot of features that business travelers take for granted. I have a feeling the "response" has been less then favorable from your average business traveler. This is an attempt to "meet the demands" We will see..... It's still got a lot of "drawbacks" when compared with other convention hotels in the area. And with the economy going "softer" by the day those hotels are going to bargin hard. Most convetion goers will pick places like Gaylord over CSR.

It makes sense that CRS's new "business" club would be oriented towards business travelers, as that is part of their target market, and it is called business club. The description on the WDW website had me hoping that the business club would be similar to other deluxe property concierge levels. And, it still very well may be, as this is all speculation on my part. I will have to just wait and see, but I was hoping that by October I would have a better sense of what the business club level would entail. :confused3
