Holy Moly that's a LOT of squares :worship: :worship: :worship:

I've never been on the Disney Cruise and I recognized hime right away!:rotfl:

Me TOO!!! :rotfl:

I have been sooooo busy lately but i finally have something to share. I got the feliz pattern. The first one I made was way to big, but this one came out ok:

My problem is this. I really like it better with the petti, but I don't have one to match. What do you guys think??

SO pretty!!! Can you see the petti underneath it???

Steph AK outfit **she wouldn't look at the camera when I had her try it on** (I made some little shoes to match):

Love the matching shoes!

JHAM, I use to go to the nursery instead of being with the women. I just liked it better. As it has been said the unconditional love is wonderful. They are such sweet spirits.

I am not but live in a 90% LDS community. When I lived in 3rd ward they invited me and my family to everything. We were even in the directory. I loved learning how to make and bake sweet rolls and how to scrapbook. They sisters were wonderful and they welcomed me.

Now in a different town in 2nd ward you would think I have 666 on my forhead! We are not even welcome. It has been years and they won't step foot on my doorstep, not even the Elders. Oh well. I miss the Sisters but know that I can go back to 3rd ward if I want.

Ok...I'll bite...what is LDS??? I was assuming Latter Day Saints but you know what they say about assuming ;)

I am finally done making all four twirl skirts for the HoganSteph MAW Big Give. Phew, 308 squares total!

I also made Mom a handbag to match her little ones. I figure she deserves it! I couldn't imaging dealing with that many small ones at one time!

Steph is helping me out by making the appliqued t-shirts. I couldn't find any short sleeve t's around here at all. I
Thank you Steph!

too cute. She will be so excited and they are sure to gets lots of attention.:worship:

Tinkrbelle 565,
You guessed correctly. We are Latter Day Saints and Relief Society is a wonderful women's organization that lets you learn tons of really wonderful skills, spiritual, mental, social. We do lots of service projects. This year my ward (congregation) made 200 school bags that contained basic school supplies in heavy duty book bags for children who don't have them. Some are sent to children in Africa, South America, even kids who lose everything in hurricanes in the US. I have even crocheted leprosy bandages.

Karebear1-- we are kindred spirits. My husband loves the nursery as well. When he served in the Bishopric, his favorite place to visit was the nursery!

MinnieVanMom--sorry about that 2nd ward. Their loss! One day they will wake up and realize what they missed.

Tom--
I love the skirts. They look a lot like the one that Jeanne made for Karlyn and we got so many compliments on it!

Gotta get to work on the poodle skirts.

Denise

That is beautiful. Now I know for sure that I need this pattern.

I am really happy with the result, but I had a serious learning curve with this one. I suggest the photo tutorial!! I am not an experienced seamstress so i reall had to watch what I was doing and I put the apron on wrong the first time.

Wow, that's so nice! What a great organization! :worship:

Hi guys, I know you tried to lose me, but I made it after all! :snooty:

My neighbor's had a verizon truck in front of their house yesterday and now our internet goes in and out! And every time it goes out I have to reboot to reconnect. Guess who I am calling tomorrow?

Also, the school called me in to sub so I did that today. Little kindergarteners too! They are so cute, but so naughty! We had a great time.

Loved Tom's skirts! What a great job, he told me it took 306 squares. Does that include the squares for the bag too? That is awesome, and thank you for letting me help with the shirts.

That Feliz dress is awesome! Just gorgeous with all the ruffles down the back!

Wow that is adorable. I love the way you hung it all up on the fence. But I can't believe you made four of them!@:worship: :worship: :worship: :worship: And a bag too! It's so cute!:worship: :lovestruc I love that black fabric with the white flowers but have yet to find any around here.

I've been super busy with work but made the move!

Sooooo many really cool things have been posted while I've been lurking!

I am going to go backwards and get caught up, but I just wanted to let you guys know that Riley just went to school and I think that her "problem" has permanently left the school!!!!!!

I will probably be known as the town hag to a few, but I just couldn't let it continue.
Good to hear he's gone! I am sure you are a hero to many!!!!!

Glad I'm not the only indecisive one. I think we may stay at WL for Aisling's bday trip in October. Since we'll just be going for a long weekend, it would be nice to be close to MK.

Has anyone actually made their ressies???
I think I'm way to early for most of the DDA Feb tripers. I'll be at AKL 1/28 to 2/3. I really like Pop. I wasn't thrilled with ASMu but that was because they had the doors blocked off so you had to walk all the way around the building and that wasn't fun during a tropical storm. BUT...ASMu was nice and there would be lots of fun photo ops at movies.

For those of you in Metro Atlanta have you heard about the new fabric store? They have the nice quilting fabrics from Moda, Quilting Treasures, Bernatex and Blanks. I am going to go check it out with my sister in Law. PM me for more information. I don't know if I can post the info about the store on the board.

I know Fairygoodmother posted pictures of them in the park, but I had to show you all what happened on Friday.

DSC02422.jpg

Here are the outfits they had on.

It started early in the morning first we head "picture, Picture" and then the japanese tourists would start posing with the girls. After several groups I started taking pictures.

LOVE that Sally Pumpkin in the background too!

Hi ladies and Tom!

Just back from our Disney cruise and I had to pop in for two reasons:

1) To offer a great big THANK YOU to all of you for inspiring me to learn to sew. I made matching outfits for my kidlets for each day of the cruise, plus a dress for my daughter for formal night - I'm so proud of myself! They're simple things - easy fit capris/shorts and appliqued tees, mostly - but I MADE THEM. When one of the counselors in the kids' club tried to put a Minnie dress on Celeste after hearing that Minnie was her favorite, Celeste balked and said "But my Mommy made this dress! I don't want to cover up the pretty dress my Mommy made me!" :lovestruc

2) To share this photo:

0810010164-1.jpg

I don't suppose anybody who posts on this thread will be insane with jealousy to see my little one snuggled up to a certain gentleman named Brent, right?

OH, I see, you can't come here to chat and share all the dish from your cruise or MORE pics of those gorgeous creations but you CAN come here and taunt us w/ pics of Brent....HOW RUDE (said in her best Stephanie Tanner voice)

Your favorite lurker popping in! Usually I come and just look at all of the beautiful outfits BUTTTTTTT this time that hottie from the boat caught my eye. Brent is it? Who is that man? The Captain? I'm telling DH we are taking a cruise....on that guys ship! LOL! By the way, that's a cute little outfit that you made for your daughter. Thanks for sharing the pic of the nice looking man in the uniform too! :rotfl:

Get in line sister. You know I've always loved the Cindy dress in your siggy pic:thumbsup2

OMG!!! You have got to be kidding me! I don;t hook up on the thread for 4 hours and I have 6 pages to go through!! :headache:

You people talk WAY too much!!!:rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Who are you? Do we know you? The name sounds familiar but I'm drawing a blank:confused3

Hi guys, I know you tried to lose me, but I made it after all! :snooty:

See, what's the deal? They tried to leave me too! Okay, you can be moving buddies w/ me and Amy next time, we'll make sure make the move safely:thumbsup2
Sure are glad you found us. I'll e-mail you.

Here I am...again. I was hoping my MIL would have sent me the pics we took of Lily in the toy story outfit but no, you'll have to wait another day but I promise HAIRBOWS and...wait for it JEWELRY b/c today we got home and there was a pkg. from Lily Ham in the mail. Lily was very excited when I told her she got a pkg. she picked up the envelope and said "it's beautiful" I told her she had to actually open it. She asked who it was from and i told her the other Lily. She said "my friend Lily???" Then she had to put them all (4) on and told me they were FANTASTIC:thumbsup2
So we should be all set to go. Now if I could only be clever enough to decorate some shoes...

...t.

Lori, yes I think we are set (I still finding myself buying stuff though - it's bad)! I am addicted to disney customs. I can't sew but I make shoes :) I don't have to use a needle and thread on them! Steph from here has made my daughter outfits...I'll post one (sorry Steph, I hope I'm not embarrassing you showing off a cute outfit you made for Avery again)! I need to take some pics of all the outfits for our trip...I haven't sone that yet. I will and post them!

How curious! Of course it is almost more amazing to me that ya'll met CPT. JACK SPARROW:love:   Does he just walk around the park in DL, b/c he is nigh impossible to get to at WDW

Hi everyone, I have admired many of the things ya'll have posted here and decided that I was going to try to make a pirate shirt for my dd...hers is too small...I CAN NOT figure out how to get the sleeves in...Has anyone made this before? I am only using the top of it...

3680.jpg

Already said but yes Latter Day Saints or to the rest of the world, Mormon but not FLDS.

It is a great organization that has a very strong value on Family, modesty and most good things. I have learned so much from my friends and neighbors in my community. I now find some the things I see people wear in Disney and in public just offensive.

They also have good thrift store called Dessert Industries. I worked at the one in Logan for a month. Yes, I was the only person there ever who was not LDS but I did get a recommend from the Bishop in the ward I lived in at the time. Love to shop there for great clothes at a discount.

Well, time for bed, nite friends.

I made that last year to make this beauty:

100_1947.jpg

I don't remember the sleeves being an issue: aren't they like a normal peasant blouse? I'm sorry, it was a year ago, my mind is hazy. Maybe take a picture of the problem?

I do remember it was really short and I had to attach ruffles to make it presentable. I don't remember being that impressed by the pattern. Sorry I can't be more help!

I looked at the line drawing for the pattern and it looks like they go in like regular pesant blouse sleeves. the top of the sleeve is actually part of the necline which really confused me at first. I do mine like Carla's pattern regardless of what the directions say. I alternate peices, sew sleeve to front then another sleeve then the back and bring that around to meet so that i have a tube then the underarm and side seams get sewn as one seam. Mabye that will help????
