Wet & Wilds lease will be up in 2010.They were locked in at a certain monthly lease rate from 10yrs ago..
Now US has room for expansion for another resort,they got something like 4 or 5 acres to devolpe still..
This is were it gets intresting.Will Wet&Wild renew their lease,at i'm sure a much higher rate..
Or will they sell out to US??
The corner W&W sits on is prime real estate,so the lease will probally go up 10times the current rate they are paying now..

It would be kool to see US build another resort with a water park.
They can really take a big bite from DW doing so..

What do you think?

I did read this in the paper,but it was the gossip section.With very credible soarces!!

Like I said this is from 6months ago.I was not aware of US propety bieng sold off!!
I know NBC owns it now,so these plans could of changed..

Wet&Wild is right acrooss I-Drive from US..It would not take them long to move the equipment-rides..

It would be intresting if they do this tho..

Only time will tell.

They were talking about another resort,thats what caught my intrest in this story!!

there was alot of buzz re Universal being sold off a couple months back haven't seen anything new...with the way the economy is wouldn't be surprising to see the Dubai peeps scoop it up & infuse with cash

Universal owns wet & wild but not the land, rumors have been going
on that they will be moving it to Universals property.

With the lease up in 2010 that would mean the park would have to close
in 2009, They would need time to move the attractions to the new site.

That would be great if Universal could pull that off.

I don't like water parks either. Out all my trips to Disney, never once have I visited any of their waterparks. We also have a couple local water parks, one being here for 26 years, that I've never visited. A Schlitterbaughn is opening nearby in a couple years, so I might have to break out of my mold and visit it and see what all the fuss is about.

From what I've seen on tv, Schlitterbahn looks really cool. I haven't been to any of the water parks here in a LONG time. I usually don't like to frighten small children so I stay covered.

I think they should make another hotel . I, for some reason, enjoy the hotel most of all everytime I go to Orlando. I have been to most of the Deluxe hotels at WDW and all of the Universal hotels at least once or twice and would love to stay in a new one

Thanks Damo,I remember seeing this also.

If they did sell off any property it will never happen.

But what part of the future development part did they sell?

Also the Dubia rumors I have heard also.But they might go the other way with the selling of A-B to In Bev and In Bev leaning towards selling off the entertainment part of A-B..

If Dubia does buy Sw BG,they have enough money to purchase US also.
That means one thing for Orlando,a monoply that Dw held for years..

Dubia has more then enough money too pull it off and add more resorts etc. too the Orlando area..

Its gonna be intresting how this will all come together..

With the economy we are in now,America is for sale too the rest of the world and Dubia has billions to work with!!!!

I'll see if I can find the property they sold. I believe it was before those plans were made, though, and it included property over towards Wet 'n Wild.
