I know that everyone has different opinions, however, I would like to know what you think. Is the Meal Deal Ticket worth it? I know that there are only certain restaraunts that participate, so I don't know if we should do it or not.

Thanks! :worship:

I think most people on here would say no...it's not worth it unless you like to eat fast food. The food is good but you would have to eat a lot for it to be worth it. If however you like fast food type meals, then it might be a good value for you.

I agree with Metro cause like he said if you like fast food then it might be worth it but I peronally am more into doing the rides and just exploring the parks so sometimes we wind up eating a late lunch and it would just be a waste of money and to get your moneys worth you would have to eat alot.

There are really no big savings with the meal deal unless everyone that gets it eats about two times. It is all fast food unless you go to the Comic Strip Cafe (??) where they have Chinese food. (Umm, that doesn't qualify as fast food right?) They also have spaghetti and salads so that isn't technically fast food either. The quality of the food is way better than school cafeteria but just slightly below McDonalds/B.K. That is just the personal opinion of moi, a fast food junkie. ;)

I personally like the meal deal because like I said, I LOVE fast food and pig out whenever I get it. I just like the freedom of walking past a restaurant with a short line and just going in to get something to pick at. Sometimes its onion rings or chicken strips or just a cookie or a slice of cake. I eat it on my way to the next ride. :rotfl:

I probably gain a pound or two whenever I get the meal deal but I don't mind since I go to the park to enjoy it. I'll work it off once I get home. So, conclusion.... I don't know! If you like fast food and plan to eat a lot then get it if not just pay for stuff individually.

i'm the rebel here.

since i spend 5 full days in the park during the day time, i do like to get the meal deal for one of the days.

i do the studios side as i like a couple of the places for certain foods.

i do the international film festival place for the chinese plate and the american fried chicken plate.

i love louie's pizza and meatball sandwiches. for me, this is the best in the parks.

i do ioa at 8:30 in the morning and then go to the studios side by 11 and hit louies for a couple of slices of pizza.

do more rides and then hit ifff for chicken.
hit ifff around 4 and do chinese or the fruit salad plate.

i am stuffed at this time but stop by louie's at 4:30 right before they close and grab a slice of pizza to take back to the room with me for later. the parks close at 5 on hhn event nights.

i only do this once in a trip.
then i diet the next day........

my mug i take with for the discounted refills.
don't always get soda, usually get water except for the pizza slices i get.

the food places open at 11 for the day.
they close up 30 minutes before the park closes.

if you keep that in mind you can pace yourself and come out ahead money wise.

i know i am not hungry at all at near park closing time but do take the last slice of pizza with me back to the room. i do hhn in the evenings and when i return back to the room, i have that pizza waiting for me.
nothing is open for food for me that late at night.

if you want to do a slow day in the park and mostly shows, the meal deal can be a good thing.
for the days i am doing commando touring, it is not a good thing for me.

check out the menus and see if you like what they have to offer before you consider buying the plan.

it is not for everyone

yup me too.

our group of 8 really liked it. it was pretty easy with kids along & there was quite a lot of variety. even if we didn't get a 'meal' at one of the places we passed, we would usually grab cookies for later on.
I noticed several who replied , say that the food is not that good, etc .. but uh.. that is most of the food that IS available to eat there:confused3 .there are plenty of people who eat at these places. not everyone can eat at the high $$$ places there. besides , the times we have gone we have yet to see lombards & a couple others even open!
& especially with kids,, you won't get all ticked off if your child won't eat the $10. burger you just purchased! you can just have them try something else. ( hey works for picky adults also)

Hi everyone, please excuse me if this has already been answered but I would really like to make sure I understand....if you choose to take advantage of the meal deal, can you order a meal to go, or do you have to eat at the restaurant, and whatever you do not finish has to be thrown out? I have read that you can order cookies etc., to take out, but wasn't sure if that was the case for a full meal (entree + dessert). Also, I have read about a meal deal souvenir cup that can be purchased for unlimited refills at the participating locations...can this only be used for one day, or can you bring the cup back with you on your 2nd day visit? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks =)

you can't order it to go but you can take it with you.
i'm sure you could cover the plate with napkins to get it to where you are going.

when i get the last slice of pizza before closing, that is what i do.
i don't eat it there but take it back to my room.

about the soda deal, i don't know for sure.
all i do know is people have posted threads about it and wrote about it in their trip reports of using the cup the day after they bought it.

it is supposed to be a date only availability but from what has been posted, hasn't in some cases.

i buy the universal mug and get refills for it. (not free, but reduced cost)
my mug is way old but any mug purchased at universal is valid for life on discounted refills.

So, you can buy any Universal mug and get discounted drinks for the life of the mug...Is this correct?

always.
universal has been doing that since 1997 that i know of.
that is when i started using the life long valid refillable mug.

and if you have AAA or the ap, you get 10% discount off the refill price of the soda
