Rider Swap/Singler Rider line

DH and I will have our 2 girls with us (both toddlers) on our trip and while we mostly plan to just focus on the GIRLS having fun, there are a few rides that we each would like to do that they can't go on. So I have a few questions:

How does Rider Swap work? Do you get in a separate line? So all 4 of us go up the line, then DH rides and I stay with the girls. THEN WHAT? Most rides, you get off of them someplace different from where you get ON to them. So how does DH get the girls so I can ride?

Also, does this mean we can go in the singler rider line, and if so, which rides have Singler Rider lines? All of them? So even though 2 of us would really be riding, it'd be separate rides so are we allowed to use Single Rider?

Thanks so much!

its easy. you go to the CM at the front of the stand by line and tell him you want a rider swap. you will need the child present. then at leats one of you needs to get in the stand by line(or fast pass if you ahve a fast pass, but if you have fast passes you dont need rider swap). the CM will give the person staying with the children a pass good for the entire day for that person and 2 guests to ride going throught he fast pass entrance.

this is only available for rides with a height limit.

I guess I'm confused. So after the first ride, we have an all day fast pass good for BOTH of us? So the person waiting wtih the kids just waits outside and we don't have to take the kids into the line with us each time?

well the first person would have to wait then and there. they wont give you the pass unless someone is entering the standby line. the person waiting with the kids can go do whatever they want, they dont ahve to wait outside the line, often the standby for rides with rider swap are quite long, so i wouldnt suggest waiting.
anyone who doesnt reach the height requirement is not permitted in the line. the only exception i know of is star tours, i think with this ine you do wait together, but ive never used that one.
the pass they give you will be date stamped not time stamped, its good all day.

Not quite, the first parent has to be riding to get the swap pass so whoever rides first gets in line or uses a FP. The second parent gets a rider swap pass that works like a fast pass for that attraction anytime that day. The pass can be used one time for up to 3 riders in case you have others in your party tall enough to ride.

While the child to short to ride has to be present to get the rider swap pass (to verify your eligible) they are not allowed into the line at all. So we find its best to get the swap pass and then split up so the toddlers can do something fun with dad while mom rides and visa versa.

Rider swap isn't meant to be a head of the line pass but an attempt to elimimate a double wait for parents with children too small to ride.

On attractions with a single rider line one parent can just get in line whenever they want to ride, wait and ride while the other parent waits nearby or does something else with the kids.

IIRC only EE, TT, RnRC and TSM have singer rider lines but they are usually much faster than the standby line.

I think the pass is good for ONE use for THAT ride, but the entire day use is just in case something happens that prevents the second adult from going right after the first adult rides.

It's not an all day all ride thing, and it's only used once.

Right - well said.

Its one pass good for up to 3 people that can be used one time for that attraction via the FP line anytime that day.

some rides like star tours do the swap in the ride so ask the CM at each ride- with star tours we all lined up, dh & my older kids rode whilst I sat on a bench inside the ride just outside the loading door then when the ride ended I entered the ride car and dh exited it with the baby whilst i rode and he waited on the exit side

That is how it used to be done and your right Star Tours is the only ride that still does it this way. Mainly because if there are enough waiting they can do the ride without the motion allowing children who don't meet the height restriction or those with motion sickness to ride. Almost every time we have done RS on ST we have been offered the non moving version.
