Well after reading all of the other planning journals here, I decided to start my own, if no one reads it, at least it will be somewhere I can put all of my thoughts down (DF will appreciate that as opposed to all the post it's I leave stuck all over the house). We are less than two months away, and we have so much stuff going on it's crazy! On July 2 a 50 foot tree fell on our house, and so we have been dealing with all of the fun that comes along with that...I am also a full time student, and I work part-time, and Mike has a seven year old daughter that he has joint custody of, and on top of everything, we are planning a wedding. :laughing:
So here it goes......
Mike is really easy going and laid back, and I have OCD, and feel the need to plan everything. Neither of us are very "romantic", we kind of just decided together to get married not long after we bought our house. He did surprise me with a beautiful ring (pics later), and we knew a Disney Wedding was for us, but not long after we got engaged I decided to quit my job as a preschool teacher and go back to school to get my degree in graphic design, so we decided to wait awhile (we got engaged in October of 2006), and we decided this year was going to be it. I stumbled on this board trying to look for info on Disney Weddings, and let me tell ya, there isn't a lot of it out there, this board has given me countless ideas, and even though I'm not really super active in posting...it is really nice to see people actually being supportive of DFTW's...so thanks to all of you DisBrides...I would be lost without you! :goodvibes

Thanks for all of your kind words and encouragement ladies!! I feel like I am among friends... :goodvibes. I am so glad I found these boards, I am beyond tired of the looks people give me when I tell them I am getting married at Disneyworld (I know a lot of you know what I am talking about). As promised, here is a pic of my e-ring, it's not really anything fancy, but I like the vintage look of it, and the canary yellow diamond in the center adds some color too!
As I said before, we are having our wedding on Halloween, and the theme will be.....drumroll please......The Corpse Bride. I know, I know kind of morbid right? But this isn't just ANY wedding, this is a Halloween wedding! We are having an Escape wedding, but thanks to these boards, we have customized it to make it one of a kind. We booked Randy Chapman, and Ana from Beauty Speciale, as well as Rev. Tim Herring, our colors are black, lavender, and ice blue. Next installment...cake and dress pics! :cutie:

Well I finally got around to taking pictures of my dress, but I must say that they didn't turn out all that well...the only place I can hang the dress to take a pic is on a door, and all of the doors in our house are white...so needless to the picture isn't fantastic, but here it is anyway....

The sash I picked is black (you should have seen the look on my Grandma's face when I told her I wanted a black sash...) it's really long, so I'm going to be rocking a butt bow, but it's so pretty...and the detailing is gorgeous, here is a closeup of the detailing.

As soon as we booked our wedding, my first question was "can we upgrade our cake?" DFTW assured me the bakery could do just about anything I wanted....for a price, being an Escape bride your options are kind of limited, so we were willing to pay a little more to have things customized. I found this cake on pinkboxcakes.com, and I fell in love with it, our wc Karen Serrette (who is wonderful) said it could be done! Our cake won't be quite as large, but it will look just like this...

And last but not least...this is the cake topper I bought for the cake, I found a lady who will make them for you with your wedding colors, this was the first thing I bought!

Thank you!! We love NBC, but we thought Corpse Bride would be something different for a Halloween wedding, lets just hope I can pull it all together. I'm glad you like the dress...I thought it may be too plain, but the more I look at it, the more I love it!

The sash actually has embroidery and beading on it...I really just wanted plain black, but my Mom talked me into this one, I figured since the dress is pretty plain, it would go ok...thanks for reading along! :goodvibes
 
Oh my God that cake is rediculously amazing. And so is your ring! I love antique looking wedding rings. I'm definately looking forward to this! Can't wait to see more
 
Halloween is my all time fav day of the year it would be so wonderful to have a wedding on it, your day is going to be amazing and that cake :love: so beautiful! And your wedding dress is lovely very Tim Burton, which i guess is the look you were going for!
