When are new rates announced?!!!

I am trying to book for August 2009 but on the website at the moment they are just showing 'Seasonal Rates) which seem very high and none of the 'deals' that are showing for 2008 dates. Does anyone know how far in advance they start to offer alternative rates? Would I get these now if I rang rather than booked on line?
Thanks for your help! Wanted to make sure we got a room but also don't want to pay this much!!!! :rotfl:

There are currently no discount rates available for your timeframe. I am going in Feb 09 and was told, just yesterday while modifying my dates, that they should be out in 3 or 4 weeks. She didn't mention the time range for these dates, however. My guess is 3 to 4 months before your travel date.

Booked for Christmas vacation and agent told me to check starting in October. So....try about 2 months before your dates.

Thank you! I guess I am concerned about getting a room for our dates if I leave it until then................do the Universal resorts get booked out way ahead of time? Thinking of Portofino! Thanks!

Some like to book early cause if you wait too long then the super saver , aaa will sell out quick and we usually go in july so I book our room in feb

Lawerence get the rooms booked now:rotfl:
We have ours booked for next year.
Debs Hill, book them now, then you know you have the room, watch the boards here as someone will announce when TripleA rate is available usually about Sep/Oct for next summer, and supersaver rates will be out about Easter probably, and you just call and change the rate on your room.
If you are staying for a while you could look at buying 1 Annual Preferred pass as these discounts can be quite good.

Robert,
Thank you so much for the advice. I had no idea that I could do that!!! I thought it was a case of once you've booked at that rate then you're stuck with it!!!! So, if I book now on 'seasonal' rate, what do I need to do to change it over when the cheaper rates are announced?
By the way, what is AAA?!! I've seen the Super Saver rates on the web!

The AAA release date last year was Oct 18. I checked my confirmation that I printed out.

Deb-AAA is an automotive club. You join for a membership fee, usually around $45 for a year-depending on your state and region. It gives you roadside assistance like towing your car (certain distance), help w/locking your keys in, jump starts etc. You also get discounts at hotels, some restaraunts & several theme parks. At Uni, you can get discounts on hotels, food and merch. To change your rate if a discount comes out, just call and tell them what you want.

Sleepy-what dates for discounts were released on Oct 18?

Thanks guys! I am in the UK so the AAA discount is a bit of a non-starter for me............so I think I'll book now and then change it over to the Super Saver or other discount once announced!!! Without you guys I would have just paid seasonal rate and never have thought to change it! Thanks! :lovestruc

Hi Debs, I am in the UK also, our AA counts as AAA. I joined last year, think it cost about £30 for lowest cover. I booked the HRH using this card and also got discount at shops, eateries etc in Universal. It saved me quite a lot (about $50 per day of the room rate and 10% off food/shops).

Cheers Michael

Trust me Robert as soon as I can I will :lmao: :lmao:

Remember do the booking yourself. If you use an agent, then you always have to get the agent to change anything--including adding things like refridgerators, non-smoking rooms, etc. It happened to me and when I had a huge problem it was a mess....finally had to call PBH directly and talk to the manager's office and they were wonderful.

Thanks, I'm waiting for discounts for Feb 09, so I would think it should be soon, if not already as someone on another thread posted. I don't see the rates on the aaa website, so I am calling today.
