Hi all!

DH and I had this trip at the Poly planned since we received the 40% off discount postcard Dec 07. We were all set to go until Tropical Storm Fay paid us a visit and Naples was knocked around a bit....we had a whole day without power so DH lost a lot of time for work and his building had some roof damage etc so we did not know if we could go on this little weekend adventure until yesterday morning! We did bring our laptop so he can stay up on all the emails he gets..and I get to play on the DIS during our breaks!

About 2 weeks ago I decided to drive up on Thursday and the Poly rooms were full rack rate so I booked a night at the CSR and we left alot later than I would have liked. We got onto I-4 around 10 last night and it was pouring rain until we arrived at the CSR at 11pm. It rained and the wind was really strong and I was beginning to think this would be an indoor resort vacation, which is still a nice vacation!

Sadly we really did not get to check out the CSR at all because when we woke up this morning it was pouring rain again! We were in Casitas II on the second floor in the back of the building and it was nice and clean and quiet.

We got to the Pepper Market around 8am this morning and it was very nice! We both enjoyed it alot! DH wants to stay at the CSR just for the Pepper Market! I apologize if some pictures are dark but with all the rain the skies are dark and the rooms are pretty dark too.

We were seated right next to the fruit station and if you have read any of my other reviews you know we are fruit maniacs. We shared a mixed fruit bowl of watermelon, cantelope, honeydew, pineapple and strawberries. You can get a single bowl of each type of fruit or get a combo of whatever you like. The fruit was amazing, so ripe and sweet and just darn tasty!

DH has a thing for WDW cinnamon buns so he had to get one....he said it was very good and soft and spicy.

We decided to share the biscuits and gravy, humongous biscuit that was very good, light and buttery and crispy edges just smothered in a very light and creamy sausage flavored gravy...no sausage in it tho much to my dismay.

We also shared a breakfast platter. The best scrambled eggs, I have a huge love affair with WDW scrambled eggs...they are just unlike any other! Crisp bacon that DH ate, sausage (thin) links that were not salty at all and terrible potato bits...these were just plain blech. A choice of biscuit or muffin came with the platter and DH chose a blueberry muffin that had the consistance of a sponge and the taste of LARD...double blech!

Our server brought me an ice tea and DH a hot coffee, the server said they offer caps and lattes and such but he just wanted plain stuff and he said it was ok.

After breakfast we went back to the room (still pouring rain) and he worked while I read my book and then we checked out around 12. Next post will have more pics of Pepper Market.

Yay! It's finally here! :cheer2:

Can't wait to see (and hear) more of your journey! Thanks, Nicki, for all you do for us! :rotfl2:

More Pepper Market stuff...we would have loved to eat lunch here but we were still full from breakfast so we put it on our Oct list to check it out again.

Here are some food pics and menu pics for both breakfast and lunch/dinner

Yay! I love live reports, and yours have been great in the past. I hope the rain lets up for you. Looks like a yummy breakfast.

The fruit actually looks very pretty in that pic! If you go back in October for lunch or dinner (and you like Mexican) the Wet Burrito is to die for... yummmmm!

Be careful out there.

So we leave at noon from CSR and make our way (in da rain no less) to the Poly. I had faxed them that I prefer the Tahiti 3rd floor (we booked MK view) so I was hoping that we would get it.

DH has a bad shoulder and neck and has been going to physical therapy so he really cannot be carrying anything (that made it SOOOO fun for me last night in da rain with the 4 heavy bags and let me tell ya something he did not look sympathetic enough for me) so we decided to park the car ourselves and leave our stuff in it in case the room wasnt ready.

We get to the main lobby and the place is super loaded and super loud. We check in right away and yes they did give us Tahiti and 3rd floor, room is not ready yet BUT DH looks at the map and thinks it is too far so what else ya got? Um excuse me pal?? Who is in charge of the planning???

So the CM says well how about 3rd floor Tuvalu? And the room is ready now, how is that? DH smiles that smug little I told you so grin and says perfect sign us up. DH says to me, go get the bags honey and I snarl back I will get MY own bags darling and the CM laughed and called bell services who went to our car with us, loaded our bags and took us on a golf cart to our room 3409 Tuvalu.

DH opens the door and says to me, you did good kid. The view is amazing, the room is super clean and life is great, but did I mention the rain? But it is still pouring in Naples so I would rather be in WDW with rain than at home.

Here are some pictures of our room.

As we went by Kona I snapped pics of the lunch menu, sorry for the glare...I am a shorty and the menu is posted to high for me!

I will take pics of the dinner menu tonight when we head back to MK...oh yeah, in da rain

i love how you took the time to take pictures of the menues along with the food. gives you a feel for the restaurant. can't wait to read more.

That is one lovely view! And the boats are out, it can't be all that bad. Maybe it's clearing up. Can't wait to see more! :woohoo:

We board a completely empty monorail to MK, and get this people, NO LINES at MK to enter the park....I look at DH and we both say, Gotta love this!

First thing is he needs to eat so he can take his pain killers. Of course he has been bugging me for months about Pirate and the Parrot in Adventureland for his beloved taco salad. Even tho I remind him that it was blech in March he still wanted it. Lucky for him the place was open and get this, no lines and tons of open seats at 1pm. The entire park is pretty quiet actually and this is great for us since we will be doing alot of kiddy rides and nothing that is too rough and can mess up DH's physical therapy.

DH orders a taco salad and a side of black beans and a coke. I tried to get pics before he plopped his toppings on it but he was too quick for me.

UM GOT CHEESE DEAR?!?!?!

DisneyJune08019-1.jpg

DH loved his taco salad and was a very happy puppy!

I did not want to eat here so I opted to wait and go to Columbia House for the much talked about tuna sandwich. The lines were sooo long, this is one popular place! I ordered my Anchor's Aweigh sandwich and we sat in a very empty part of the dining room. My sandwich came with chips which we brought back to the room for a later snack.

Onto the food...I really loved the bread, the lettuce and the tomato were sooo fresh and the tuna would have been knock my socks off fantastic BUT they put sweet pickle relish in it and I detest sweet pickle relish. I ate it anyways since I was pretty hungry but I wont get it again. Both us of were very impressed with the menu (forgot to snap a pic) and will go here again in Oct. They have a great looking BLT chicken salad, chili and fish .... looks so good!

Hey Nik - so glad to hear from y'all!! I agree, I'd rather be in the rain in WDW than at home. I have the same black Disney bag!!:goodvibes

Our plans changed as the skies opened up, we decided to go back to the room and rest before dinner at CP tonight. On the way DH decided he wants a snack so we go through the Main Street Candy Store. He got a piece of fudge and I got an Oreo covered pretzel which neither one of us ate it yet so no pics but I will snap them later tonight.

Here are some pics of the candy to tide you over

We got right on another empty monorail and are back at the Poly. DH wanted a drink so we went to the pool bar and ordered 2 Pina Colada Strawberry Daquiri combos. DH finished his and I am still nursing mine...dont want to get too full before dinner tonight.

DisneyJune08030-1.jpg

MK is open until 10pm tonight so hopefully we are going to stay that late but it depends on the weather. Right now it is still spitting rain and the clouds are super dark although the sun was out a few minutes earlier. Tomorrow is supposed to be better.

I hope I can get some up close and personal pics of the buffet for you guys, it is so easy to do when there restaurant is not that busy! Tomorrow morning we have ressies for Ohana breakfast at 7:30 am! Who knows what for lunch and Marrakesh for dinner. We leave on Sunday so we will have a 10:30 breakfast at Boma before hitting the road. Oh and I hope alot of snacks in between!

Any questions or requests let me know and I will do my very best for you! :grouphug:
