Castaway Club benefits?

On repeat cruises you will be invited to the officer's reception (food, beverages). You will get occasional mailings....some more entertaining than others. The better ones have included a jigsaw puzzle, a recipe, a CD of ship's music, etc.

On repeat cruises you can book excursions, Palo, Spa, etc. earlier than first timers provided you are paid in full.

on your next cruise, on check in at the Port, you will get special lanyards to hold your key to the world card, plus in your stateroom, you will have some freebies....lol. A nice large beach bag, two mesh bags, water bottles, umm, thats all I can remember. Others have posted pics of the freebies.

I believe also on your next cruise you get to go in a special CC club member line for check in which is a little bit quicker than the normal line.

At least they had this the last time I cruised.

I have read other posts that said that they did not receive their CC# without calling. How long should I wait until I call? We got back on 8/10. Would I still receive mailings, etc. without calling? Thanks.

Hi.. we got got back on July 10th. I can't remember the exact date, maybe 2-3 weeks ago... I e-mailed DCL with our names, D.O.B., travel dates and reservation # and they returned my e-mail with the CC#. Ironically I received my cards in the mail the next day:)

Gosh, you got your cards in the same year you sailed? Who do you know?:rotfl:

The Castaway Club is notorious for not sending out your membership cards, but you're in the Disney system - you'll get the CC mailings, and when you rebook, they'll know of your membership without you telling them! I think we finally got our cards when they mailed us the broken CD.:confused3

Believe me after reading these boards I NEVER expected to receive them so early. I just went back and checked... sailed 7/6-10 and received the shoreside survival kit with CC cards on 8/9. Someone else on the same cruise received theirs too! I guess we were the lucky ones.

As others have posted, once you sail you are in the system. But, it can't hurt to e-mail or call and try to push the cards your way:)

Our experience in the "special" Castaway Club line is that it is usually much longer! Our sixth cruise was the Mexican Riviera this past July. We actually tried to get in the other line where no one was waiting but we were quickly asked to stay in the CC line as they had all of our paperwork on their computer screens. (Kind of silly really!)

What if you lost your CC card? My wife and I cruised 8 years ago on our honeymoon, and are now planning a Feb 2009 cruise. Do they go that far back?

Bob.

Hi,

We sailed in Jan 2007 and we have Castaway Cay #'s (per our travel agent) but no cards........do you have to have cards to use the Castaway Cay line when checking in?

Thanks!

You absolutely do not have to have cards, they will have the Castaway Club information in the computer.

I think the request to stay in the Castaway Club line was exclusive to the LA port departure. We had to use the Castaway Club line for the Mexican Riviera cruise also, although it was the shortest line anyway. You can go to the shortest line in Port Canaveral, unless something has changed. We were directed to an open regular check-in customer service rep in March, from the Castaway Club line.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for the info. I'll wait a few weeks before I e-mail or call. I really just want the # to give to the TA who will be giving me a quote when the 2010 rates come out. I don't know that it will make a difference but she might need it anyway.

Thanks for the info!! Hard to believe I'm a Castaway Cay member and that we will be sailing in 16 days!

You are still members. We have been on many DCL cruises and only got them after 6 calls to DCL and the CC # to get them and only for DH and I. Never for kids. But who cares, I have never had to use them. They really serve no purpose besides being cute.:lmao: For scrapbookers, I guess they can go into your books. I think the CC club is a joke. I always like the little bag they give us and the Capt's reception now is a total joke, but I think this is one area DCL can improve on. Other cruiselines give the members all types of perks including members only lounges.:thumbsup2

I totally agree. I always ask my friends who sail DCL a couple of times a year if they have received ANYTHING yet for being such loyal cruisers...the answer is always the same, nope. Yes they get the bag...and they know the crew...but nothing else.

I get so much more from being RCCL C&A than for DCL. Even loyal RCCL cruisers who wants to book Oasis get to do so FIRST. It would be nice if DCL implemented the same loyalty programs...especially now that the new ships are coming out in a few years.

Here... Here !

The gifts that they gave to us on the Maiden Voyage were GREAT:cool1:
HD and I received each: DCL watch, DCL Hat, Alarm clock/ calculator,
leather portfilio, and pens. All NICE items!!!

I also wish they would reward CC something more...
I'd like OBC, (discount) spa package, discount at any of the ships shops...

I like that ... a lounge.
