My family and I returned last Thursday from a GREAT cruise on the Wonder. I've been on the Magic 3 times but this was my first time on the Wonder. The same excellent stadards apply to the Wonder as they do the Magic and we had a fantastic time.

We were in Nassau one night docked next to the Carnival Sensation. The movie Monsters, Inc. was showing on the big screen over the family pool. There were a line of people standing along the railing of the Sensation to watch the movie. My daughter summed it up the best when she said, "Daddy I bet those people over there would rather be sailing with us". Anyway I thought I would share.

The Castaway Club also got to meet with Captian Henry who just returned from vacation in Germany. He said that he went to the shipyard where the two new ships are being built. He thinks the first ship will be ready late 2010. Here's hoping.

I know exactly what your daughter was saying! We went on the Wonder last November for our 1st cruise ever and had a fabulous time! This past July we took a cruise with other family members and we on the Carnival Sensation to the Bahamas. We docked beside the Wonder in Nassau and that's exactly what me, my DH, and my DD kept wishing...we wished we were on the Wonder! But hopefully if nothing interfers we'll be on the Magic this coming November so we're really looking forward to that!!! Glad you had a wonderful cruise!!

I thought I saw that somewhere too, a webcam of where the ships were going to be built. Last I heard they hadn't started building them yet. I wonder if the plans are even finalized yet? I'll be on the Magic in '09 and I would LOVE to make a booking for one of the new ships!

On our last cruise we were in port and getting ready to sail out of of Cozumal - and DH and I were on the top deck waiting to hear the Horn blow
(my favorite sound in the world ) and a few people on the ship next to us yelled over

DH on other boat: WANNA TRADE PLACES ??????
DH on our boat: Never in a million years !!!!
DH on other boat: Is it worth the money?
DH on our boat: TOTALLY WORTH it and then some!
DW on other boat: SEE I TOLD YOU WE SHOULD HAVE GONE DISNEY!!!!
ME: Have a MAGICAL DAY

and then the HORN PLAYED and the cheering from the crowds was amazing!!!

Here's the link to the Meyer Werft website...there are a couple of webcams. You can change it back & forth from German to English by clicking on the little flag on the top right of their toolbar. I put it into my favorites and check about once a month just for grins...

This makes complete sense, since Disney is all about surprises. I thought I read somewhere that Captain Henry (from the Wonder?) had just returned from the Meyer Werft and thought that one of the ships could be done by late 2009. Seems like a stretch, but just something I thought I read on the boards.

Hoosier Frog, maybe this wasn't a thread when you put your post about wishful thinking and it maybe being done late 2009, but the 1st post on this thread is the one about the Captain speculating it may be done late 2010. I just thought it was funny, especially the next post where someone pasted a link to the origional post.
However the laugh may be on me, perhaps the beginning of this thread was a quote from another post, I didn't click on the link... I just remembered it was why I opened this thread to begin with and scrolled back up & there was what I think is the post you were talking about??? I just thought it was funny, but at 4:30 in the morning, anything can be considered funny.

And Mozart, I thought I recognized your "avatar" then I read your signature and recognized we might/should see you on the November Cruise! Will be looking forward to meeting you, posted to our cruise link thread a few nights ago, new to these DIS boards. Wow, I wish I found these before our previous DCL cruises.

I never tear up and I actually started crying. What a really neat sound. I have never heard it before!
