dvc perks

We went on the 7 night eastern in January - our cabin door was decorated with "Welcome Home" life preserver magnets, got a couple of in cabin gifts (bag, lanyards, really nice Cpatain's Logbook), invite to a DVC members only party where we got another goodie bag (two ballcaps, lanyards, pens and a pin). We also purchased another 160 points while on board and got 160 developer points, 160 points for 2007 and another 160 points for 2008 (use year Feb) and a $500 shipboard credit for that particular cruise.

I could be wrong, but I believe the in cabin gifts were for return cruisers (CC Members). But you should get the magnet. And if you attend the DVC Member Event you will get a few things like hats and such. On our last cruise they had some pretty good prizes to win too. So brush up on your DVC trivia before you go.

The bag is for returning cruisers but the lanyards and the log book are in room gifts for DVC members.

Question...How do they know if you are a dvc member if you did not book w/points?
It seems for the most part if you booked the cruise after you joined DVC (even if you didn't use points to book it) they know. They have on our last couple of cruises for which we paid cash. However if you don't get anything on the first night just stop down at the DVC desk on deck 4 and they will hook you up.

Thank you:thumbsup2

I actually ended up with four bags from our last cruise. Our first gift was for being a Castaway Club member and was in our room on night one. It was a nice daybag with two water bottle holders (water bottles too!) + a red mesh beach bag + a blue spiral Castaway Club notebook and pen. On the night we received our invite to the DVC Members Party, it was presented in a blue drawstring 15th DVC Anniversary Bag along with a Goofy DVC pin. We received the Captains Logbook another night, a flashy light DVC pin for Pirate Night and of course received another DVC canvas bag for purchasing extra points while on the cruise.
