We're Going To Disney, But It's Our Little Secret

Hahaha! How could I forget that :) Like I said earlier in my PTR, my memory escapes me often :rotfl: Must be those "senior moments" I am getting since AARP thinks that 29 yrs old is old enough to start recieving info from them on life insurance lmao: I am so dreading the BIG 3-0! Maybe I should embrace it though, and celebrate Disney style. Maybe someone should call and tell the CM's that I am celebrating my 30th bday and notify our ADR's :lmao:

Yeah, somebody really should do that . . . :rolleyes1

Ok, I don't have but a few secs so I can't do an update...I will leave you with a few pics from out last trip to help you pass the time :goodvibes

I'm joining in. Love to read about surprise trips. Sounds like your 2 families are going to have a lot of fun. I can only imagine how jealous your kids are that they aren't going anytime soon.

Great pics too!

They are so jealous. They know that their friends are going in September, and that it's not that far away! If they only knew!! Haha! :rotfl:

Thanks for posting pics!!! It helped pass the time a little....I am guessing that it is time for another update....:goodvibes I am so ready to go....26 days!!!!!

Did you notice how much the 5 of them have grown in less than a year?!?!?! Can't wait to compare this year's pictures to those! Thanks for letting me hijack! :goodvibes Can't wait for the next update. :surfweb:

Ok so it is update time. Since I have a few minutes I thought that I would get back to my PTR a little. When I left off, we had just booked the free dining offer and were so excited.

Our DH's could not believe that we were going to Disney with Free Basic Dining, and got the Deluxe upgrade for a great price. They for once saw the potential in the Dis I do believe!! :thumbsup2

Our next decision. Should we drive like we have always done previously, or should we fly? DBFF and her family had already told us that they were flying, so we looking into it. Making the trip without that dreaded 12 hour drive was very tempting. We started looking at ticket prices and flight schedules and planning. We decided to go ahead an bite the bullet and fly!!! Much to our surprise though, we weren't going to be spending a whole lot more that driving, and it wasn't going to take us 12 hrs!!!! I was ecstatic! :lovestruc This will be our first time to fly as a family!!! This is when the wait for Southwest to release the September rates began!!! It took forever! I know we waited for a few months, checking daily to see if they had been released, with no luck of course :sad2: Finally the day came that SW was supposed to release the dates and flights and guess what?????? They DIDN'T!!! It was delayed a few days! How could they do that??? Didn't they know that we were waiting to book our flights and that we wanted to do that NOW!!!Hahaha!!!:rotfl: Oh well, the time finally came. I was doing some shopping with my sister a couple of hours from my house when my phone rang....it was DBFF! She was talking so fast I could hardly understand her :rotfl2: She was telling me that someone here on the DIS had posted their Ding code for SW and that she was trying it to see if it would work and it did!!! The rate was awesome!!! :rotfl: She was so funny! I was in the middle of the store rattling off my card number to her so she could book for me and email me the info. I didn't want to chance missing out by the time I got home. Someone defintely sent us some Disney magic that day :wizard: I still get excited just thinking about it!

It was done. We were booked, my family of 5 and her family of 4! We are FLYING TO WDW :dance3: My kids are going to be so excited!!! DBFF and her DH told their kids that they are going by plane and they are so excited about that. They have told my children that they are flying so that just added to the envy that my kids have. My DS8 told me that "Brooke and Bo sure are lucky to have parents like that. It would be so fun" If he only knew, right!!!:)

So it is set, we are going to be leaving New Orleans International at 6:10am on 9/11 and arriving at Orlando International at 8:45am, how awesome is that!!!!:woohoo: We have elected not to do the ME service, but have a passenger van booked via FL Tours. They are picking us up with a uniformed driver and will also be bringing us back to the airport for departure. I can't wait for the kids to see the driver holding the sign for us when we land!!! It will definately be a "Kodak moment" ;)

That is all the time I have for now, but will add more soon.

Up next: Our Itinerary and ADR's!!! Can't wait to take full advantage of Deluxe Dining!!!:upsidedow

DBFF did this video of our girls on test track. I lost all my videos when my computer crashed :sad1: This was my girls first time to ride it!!! You can hear my youngest DD screaming, lol. She was having fun though~ Check it out!

That video just makes me want to cry!!! :goodvibes Those squeals and giggles (mixed in with a few screams. lol) just melt my heart! And you have to love their response to "if they liked it" at the end! I can't wait to ride it this trip - hopefully over and over with little or now wait. ;)

I love it! Can't wait to hear how you're going to pull this off.

I bet you have quite a list of ADRs -- the deluxe plan is a lot of food.

I just stumbled upon your pre-trip report...

I just wanted to say that yall have the cutest families, and your hubby's look like they get in a lot of trouble together... I sure know what that is like!

I can't wait to read the rest of your report, I absolutely adore suprise trip reports!

Ok, to be honest I am a little annoyed. I had my update already typed up and I accidentally hit that back button and lost EVERYTHING!!! SO aggravating! BUT, here we go again. Maybe this time I can do better :goodvibes

Last time I left off, I was about to tell you about our itinerary and what ADR's we have. I am very excited to be using the Deluxe DDP this trip, as we get to try even more of the wonderful restaurants! We have a lots of ADR's so hold on to you hats! LOL :rotfl:

The day that we arrive, we elected not to make a lunch ADR, just in case we are delayed somehow. We wouldn't want to rush on our first day, that is definitely not how I want to start our trip! :goodvibes

We decided that we would do Epcot on our arrival day, so we will just grab a CS there for lunch. If anyone has any suggestions on where, send them my way! We have done Sunshine Seasons and The Electric Umbrella before.:) We will finish this day up with dinner ADR @ HDDR! One of our favorites! We really like this meal and are looking forward to eating there again, this time with DBFF and her family. I should mention that our DH's are DBFF's to, but I somehow don't think they would display it that way, :rotfl2:

The rest of our trip:

Friday - September 12th
This is our 1st MK Day!!!! Can't wait to be there. This is my absolute favorite park. I love being there and the atmosphere it has.

Breakfast ADR - Crystal Palace. This is my favorite breakfast!!! I am ready to go back. Hopefully this year we will be out before rope drop!!! :thumbsup2

Lunch we will grab a CS. Again send suggestions our way! I love to hear about your favorite CS places.

Dinner ADR - CRT! This will be my families 1st time @ CRT. DBFF have there and really enjoyed it. I can't wait to see my girls faces when we go to eat in the castle. They are going to LOVE it!

Lunch ADR - 50's Primetime Cafe - This is another first for us. I hope they aren't too strict on the kids for not cleaning their plate or making a mess. My girls are a little tender hearted! LOL! :rotfl:

Dinner ADR - Ohaha - Another first! We are very excited about this meal. The banana bread pudding sounds amazing! :worship:

She tells me the food is good and that the almond encrusted cheesecake to to die for :goodvibes Can't wait to see for myself. This is also the night that we are going to be using the Mousketeer Club for the first time. We are really looking forward to having an adult meal! It should be nice, and I'm sure the kids will enjoy their time too.:thumbsup2

Monday - September 15th

Magic Kindom Day #2

Lunch ADR - LTT - This is yet another first! Wow, how many times have I said that in this update?!?

Dinner - 1900 Park Fare - This is a first for all of us! Can't wait to see the Step-Sisters! The kids should get a hoot out of them! :)

Tuesday September 16th

This is our departure day! :sad1: :sad2:
Since we have to check out of POR that morning and our flight doesn't leave MCO until later that evening, we have decided to go back to Epcot and spend the day.

Breakfast - Chef Mickeys - This one looks cute!

Lunch ADR - Coral Reef. Another first, looks yummy! ;)

Then later that evening we will be headed back home. Such a sad part of the trip! Hopefully they days won't fly by!

And so you have it. This our plan of attack :lmao: I will post another update soon so you can count down the days with me :goodvibes and of course I have to talk about getting ready, shopping and packing.

The kids still have no clue we are going! This is the plan. My MIL is going to be riding with us to the airport. She is going to drive my van back home for us so we don't have to use park and fly. The airport is only about 45 mins from my house. We are fortunate! About a week before we leave we are going to tell the kids that "Nana" is going to take a trip and we will be bringing her to the airport so she doesn't have to driver herself. We will tell them that it will be really early and that it will still be dark outside. We will also tell them that we will have to leave that early b/c we need to be back in time for them to get ready for school. They should believe this. We will have everything packed before we wake them. I am borrowing one of her suitcases, so that will be on top if they are looking. The rest will be under a quilt below her suitcase. When we arrive at the airport, we are going to arrange to meet DBFF inside @ the SW counter or somthing like that. When we get to the airport we'll let the kids get out to tell "Nana" goodbye :rotfl2: Then we will tell them that we are going to WDW!!!!! At this point I expect to hear squeals and screams! When we go inside, they will see DBFF and her family and it will be awesome, especially since her kiddos have no clue that we are going with them!!! :dance3: I can't wait. Of course I am going to video it and promise to post it when I do my TR!

I guess that is all for now though, I will update some more soon. Probably later today.

I will close with this.....We are going to WDW in 25 DAYS!!!!

Okay, so I think this is my favorite post!!!!!!!!!!!! Seeing all of our yummy ADRs listed out gets me so excited!!!! (Hello, I'm Melonie, and I'm a foodie!) :rotfl2: I can't believe we're down to 25 days - I remember when it was 225 days!!!!

yay this is soooo fun!!!! where do you guys live in louisiana..we are in lafayette!!!!

I so wish I could have surprised our kids with our upcoming trip - but since I am really 8 years old at heart - I can't keep a secret to save my life!!!! So they know and are harrassing me every day with the dreaded "how many more days until we go to Disney World?" questions every day!!!!!

I'm enjoying your pretrip report !!!!

We live in Gonzales. Between Baton Rouge and New Orleans, not too far from you!:goodvibes

I sooooo know what you mean with them asking EVERY day!!! That is the main reason that we decided not to tell them at first, then I realized that it would be a lot of fun if we totally surprised them and didn't tell them until the day of! ;) It has been so hard to keep it a secret. We have to make sure that we don't slip up! It is soooo hard, we catch ourselves all the time and have to cover. Anytime they ask why I am looking at WDW stuff, I tell them I am just helping DBFF (Aunt Melonie) plan their trip. They get the longest faces with the saddest little looks. It kills me, but it's worth it!!!! :thumbsup2
