Visa Rewards Dollars to pay for cruise?

Before your trip have the Disney rewards dollars transferred to a rewards card and sent to you. Take that card with you on your trip and you can apply the dollars on that card to your bill at Guest Services. I usually transfer my Disney Visa dollars to my rewards card about 3 weeks before my cruise.

Oh yeah, forgot about that part.:goodvibes

For those that have used the rewards card, do you also place a credit card on the account? We have enough rewards points (approx 900 by cruise time) that everything we do onboard and the excursions off for our four day cruise will be covered with our Rewards Points.

Yes, we also place our Disney Visa on account at Guest Services.

I have a Disney Rewards Visa-but have never gotten a card to redeem the rewards. How can I do this?

you call the # on the back of the card and ask for one. It takes a few days (or more) to get it. But you can load points onto almost instantly. Note: the Rewards Cards have an expiraiton date & if there are points on it when it expires, you lose them so plan accordingly.

Make sure you get credited back for the money not used. On our first cruise they credited it back but on our second they did not. I had to call.
Keep an eye on that. :)

Our last Med cruise I called Disney Cruise line, & had my disney visa point money trasfer to my account on the Magic.

Entering our cabin there was a sheet telling us the money on our account. It was very easy & I didn't have to wait on any lines.

We are going away again this Feb 09 I have done the same thing, I have about $500.00 on my account so far.

Every few months I transfer

You can also go online at Chase to order your card and transfer points.

Don't transfer your points to a rewards card until you are ready to use them, however, because once they are on your card, you cannot return them to your account. You must use them before the rewards card expires.

Thanks for the reminder. I had heard others say that DCL automatically credited their account, so I probably wouldn't have paid attention if you hadn't said anything.

Do you have to have the rewards on a billing statement to be used? Would this work? I get my rewards dollar card, transfer all reward dollars for OBC before I leave home. Than later in the week of the cruise, can I transfer the additional dollars that I have earned through meals, hotel stay, shopping etc. onto my card for more OBC?

That is not how it works. Your points are credited when you get your statement. The DRD earned will not be available until your billing. I am currently doing the 5X rewards special offer and it is good for July, August, and September and those points will be credited to the October or November statement. My cruise is in October is over 1 week before I get my statement so none of those points will be available for this cruise. I guess that means that we will have to book another cruise later just so I can use all those points.
