In Papenburg Germany this morning the newest cruise ship for Celebrity Cruise Line was floated out. This seems to be a big event in Papenburg as many bring their RV's out to watch this. Its a beauty of a ship.

Yeah, but the trolling motor is about 12000 horse power, and burns 3000 lbs of fuel an hour. As far as the skiing, sure, but if you fall it takes 2 hours for it to turn around and get you.

Man Oh Man that thing is huge ! I've never went on a cruse before and want to one day, but that's just crazy! :scared1:

I am no sailor, but doesn't it look kind of top heavy - like those oriental ferries that keep turning over? And those RV's in the picture look 2 dimensional. I think they are just cardboard cutouts.

The ships keep getting bigger and bigger. I am not sure that always means better. It is amazing looking at them that they don't just topple over.

I personally like the Voyager Class ships (Mariner of the Seas). Royal Caribbean has the Freedom Class now which is even bigger and then they are coming out with the Genesis Class which will be even bigger then that. Crazy. The Freedom Class ships are the largest on the waters right now.

If you see a Kiev class, better sink it.

Its big, alright....but daaaang its ugly. It just looks like a giant cheap roadside motel! And you're right...it looks like a decent sea breeze would flip it right over!!!

I enjoy cruising. We were on the Adventure class ships on RC, very nice.
You don't realize how wide they are.

They finally have a name for genesis class, its now the Oasis of the Seas, 220,000 GRT, it is so big it will have neighborhoods.

That is the same class as the Mariner of the Seas. They are a nice size. The Mariner is a gorgeous ship. I think they are a good size. Not sure I would want to go on a bigger one.

That pic above does make it look kinda narrow. Must be the angle of the photo cause they are pretty wide.

They are suppose to be really neat ships. The way they will have them laid out in neighborhoods sounds kinda cool. I think it might be a little too big though. They already have to tender a lot with the Freedom Class ships although I understand some ports are building bigger piers and making room for these bigger ships. I guess it would be cool to try it out.

me either, i would rather have my house on dry land...

don't get me wrong, i love boats, but not to live on them permanently
