Fantasmic downsized to 2 nights a week?

How very strange. 2 nights a week? If Disney is doing this to cut back, I'd think maybe they would cut out say, 2 nights and still show it 5 times a week. Cutting back to only 2 nights a week seems pretty drastic. I'm sure Disney knows very well the 2 or even 3 slowest days at DHS too, I wonder if that is how they came up with Monday and Thursday...are those the busiest days at DHS or something? And aren't Sundays Evening EMH at DHS, you'd think they would still do Fantasmic on an evening EMH? :confused3

Maybe this is just a preview of what is to come.

I guess the attendance is down in the parks.

Economy is tough right now

Were going in August and will see Fantasmic it will be interesting to see if its full

Ok, Just making sure I read this right....this won't take effect until January - right??

Sorry if this was obvious, but it's been a long day!

No prob! I'm hoping that since January is a long way off, the attendence stats make Disney change their minds and add performances. It would be great to add another Fantasmic day per week- let's keep our fingers crossed they decide 2x/week is not enough.

wow, that is one heck of a cutback. when I first spotted this I figured they ment during the lul in Jan it would be two nights a week, that means it will be crowded to the gills with people again starting next year.

Fantasmic! will be performed two times weekly –generally Mondays and Thursdays - and more often during our busiest times of the year.

I'm not sure what the big deal is. I'm going in January and understand them not having F! every night of the week when it's not busy. It states during the busier times they will have more shows. Makes sense to me.

I'd rather them do this then raise ticket prices even higher.

Aren't there already evenings in the "off-season" (is there still an off-season?) when MK skips Spectro? Am I dreaming?

Also, from a staffing standpoint, Fantasmic! uses an enormous amount of Cast Member resources (40+ if I recall). At least back when I was there, the F! shift consisted of doing Parade Control as well as F! for the evening. It will be interesting to see how that shift works now. Part-timers only for Block Party on non-F! days?

In the end, a very interesting situation... and one I would not like to encounter as a guest.

My thoughts,

They stated in the press release that they would add more shows during the busier times of the year.

As someone going in January, I think this is an awesome thing. It means that they do, in fact, expect the crowds to be VERY low. :cool1:
