New ads?

Just thought I'd put this up to see if anyone else has been getting it.

On the DIS now I have new ads coming up and some of them have sounds such as "Jessica Simpson looks really cold in her wet white t-shirt. So hot." I think these are innapropriate. I know Pete has no control over what the people who own that ad space put there, but I'm beginning to think it's a bit too much. I'm not telling Pete to take off all ads because I know thats how sites stay running, but maybe switch to a new ad provider?

yowza! My 10 yr old often looks at some of the dis stuff with me and I wouldn't want her seeing that. I haven't had much chance to DIS in the last week or so so I haven't seen the ads.

Can you tell me where you saw this ad. Which forum it was in. We definately don't want any offensive material on these boards. Please let me know so I can take a look at it, I'm trying to find it now.

Can you tell me where you saw this ad. Which forum it was in. We definately don't want any offensive material on these boards. Please let me know so I can take a look at it, I'm trying to find it now.

I just saw a political (offensive to me) banner at the bottom of the Theme Parks page. Sent a note to the Mods with a copy of the link.

Thomas, run a full scan with your virus/spyware software.

It is true that the Google ads are populated by Google advertisers and not us, but we do have the power to block any that are offensive to us if they slip through. So it's always a good idea to let us know when something like this does happen.

If everyone's seeing the offensive ad, we can block it. If only one person seems to be affected, it's usually an issue of spyware/malware just on their PC, and a good virus software will take care of the problem.

"Offensive" really means sexually or violently inappropriate. Since everyone has a different political opinion and we don't want to dictate to anyone what their politics should be, we can't really censor a political expression that some may agree with and other may not.

If you see banners that are inappropriate, make sure you get the url so we can add it to the Google ads filter. The chances of me seeing the same banner as you is very slim.
