"Goth Day"

I think that the idea is so awesome..I personally have been bringing Black Metal to WDW since 1998. I never have problems with heat but of course I don't dress "goth" I just wear my Metal Shirts all of which are black. I think something like this would be great at WDW there are plenty of Metalheads that are also diehard Disney fans. I mean you can't tell me that the Disney Villians don't listen to metal all the time. I vote for a Black Cauldron themed ride for all the Disney Metalheads out there. Go Bat Day

We accidentally went to Goth days at DL last year. We had no idea that the Goths were going to be taking over the park on the weekend that we went. OMG. We felt completely out of place wearing our pink tinker bell t-shirts and white shorts! I kept telling my wife that we should go home and find whatever black clothing we had to wear to the park the next day.

Oddly enough..the Goths mostly just wandered around and hung out looking depressed and goth-like. The only ride that had a line was the Haunted Mansion. Go figure.

You know... when I was younger/a teenager I certainly wasn't goth .. but I was definitely into "darker" things... tim burton films, fantasy films (legend, the dark crystal), and as we all know.. a lot of teenagers have that whole angsty, emo, "the world just doesn't understand me" attitude. I can totally see how 'goth' and disney can fit together.

I remember being younger and telling someone that if I were to describe myself I would say I was like disney, on crack. lol. I mean, think about movies like the dark crystal and the nightmare before christmas. They have dark elements to them but they are also "kids" shows and disney/jim henson. (which I love. BIG Jim Henson Fan here!).

As for me personally.. I have outgrown the need to dye my hair all sorts of crazy colors and dress wacky (most of the time!) ... but I still have a love for a lot of that stuff and I think it's great that people who identify both with the "darkness" and the fantasty and dream elements of disney can have a day to celebrate that.

so with that being said.. I will use an icon that Goths tend to hate.. and finish this post saying:

The last time DH and I brought his kids...his DS was sort of into Goth...dressed in black. He was complaining while we were in the park that it was "SO HOT!!"
I just looked at him and said..."its the end of July...we are in Florida and your wearing BLACK!!!" I just didn't get it...but he is past that now.

As for me personally.. I can almost bet the goths are more respectful and less annoying than the cheerleaders during Pop Warner!

I do listen to goth/black/death metal- but no one would ever know it by the way I dress, and I have blonde hair and like to tan I do have some piercings though.

I would stick out like a sore thumb in the goth group photo

I know the Black Cauldron is one of my favortie Disney movies of all time!!!!
