 I just got some Bad news from my mom today . The Trip to Walt Disney World has been Postphoned because of the high gas prices. My Stepdad has a 2000 Ford Pickup that runs on Diesel Fuel. , Which is just to expensive to fill up to go . we will instead go to Savannah Ga for 3 days then come home . I am bummed that I will not get to go this year but mabye next year.:sad1:

Sorry to hear that but look at Airfare you might get a deal if you check daily. I know Jet Blue is overing $20 off a RT flight.

I'm confused...you are saying that gas prices are too high, however you are still driving to Savanah? :confused3 Savanah is only about 6 hours north of Orlando...

Sorry to hear that your trip is postponed though. It will make it all the more special next year :wizard:

Maybe if you can pitch in to cover the difference in fuel you can still go. I know that gas is expensive but if your mom was going to pay for the rest of the trip I would say volunteer to cover the cost of gas from Savannah and back.

I have no idea what your financial situation is but you are looking at about a 600 mile round trip. The average price of a gallon of diesel fuel in FL right now is about $4.60. A 2000 Ford F-250 with a diesel engine can get about 18-20 miles per gallon on the freeway. If you go with the low number, that is about 33.3 gallons to get from Savannah to Orlando and back. You are looking at about $153 in gas. I know I would be willing to pony up $153 for a trip to WDW any day.

Hope you can work it out though.

Maybe OP meant that the daily expense of driving has used the expendable income, making WDW unaffordable. While the cost of the actual driving to Orlando will be higher, it probably isn't what will make or break anyone's trip. But $400-$500 a month more to gas and groceries gets tough after a while.

Maybe the problem isn't just getting to Disney, maybe it's how much extra they are paying all the time now that makes it necessary to cancel Disney.

Either way...I'm so sorry! I know you were really looking foward to the trip. :sad1:
