Restaurant rotation...

Hello to all:

A few years back I read on this board that there is a certain restaurant rotation that is the best to get for the 7-day cruise so that on formal night you end up in Lumiere's (and not Parrot Cay). Can anyone tell me what this rotation would be and if you can request this rotation prior to your departure?

Thanks.

Honestly, it really doesn't matter. We've had every rotation and they are all fine. We've been in Parrot Cay for Pirate Night and it was fun, but it was equally fun in Animator's and Lumiere's. Ditto for Formal Night. We've been in Lumiere's for that, as well as Parrot Cay and Animator's and they were all equally festive.

While you can request a rotation it is not guaranteed and if you are planning around that rotation for other things (Palo, etc.) getting a different rotation could throw everything off. Honestly, and this is just my opinion, I think that sometimes people stress too much about making everything perfect and they end up losing some of the spontaneity of the trip. My advice would be to just go with the flow and have a great time! Also, with the new dining rotations (in effect until at least the end of the summer) the old "best rotation" scenario may no longer be applicable.

Have a great cruise!

It depends on whether you have the Eastern or Western itinerary... On our Eastern the formal night was on Day 2... I think it may be Day 3 on the Western... but you want to check it in any event.

The rotation is always goes in the order of Lumiere's to Animator's to Parrot Cay and back to Lumiere's.. (LAP..LAP..L).

For our Eastern, our rotation was PLAPLAP.. which put us in Lumiere's on formal night. This also had the 'advantage' of being in Parrot Cay on Pirate night...

For a Western you might want APLAPLA... to be in Lumiere's on day 3...

For some it doesn't matter... but for me it does... I prefer certain 'theming' on certain 'occasions'...

Again... check your itinerary..

This is no longer true...at least for the summer. The current rotations have the same restaurant on nights 2 and 3. This could mess up the "preferred rotation" possibility but, again, you'll have a great time no matter where you are.

OH MAN!

I booked my Palo reservation for the 4th night thinking that I would have done all the restaurants by then!! Do you know if you eat at the same restaurant on nights 2 and 3 during the Mexican Riveria cruise also? thanks.

Yes, the new 1-2-2-3-1-2-3 rotations were put in place for the Riviera cruises and will last all summer. There has been no word as to whether they will continue after September's drydock or not.
