Tony .Driver and general gofer
Theresa .Scrapbook shopper extraordinaire
Peggy (my mum) ..Ill go on anything as long as its not upside down or has big drops .
Zena (my aunt) .Ditto
Got to Universal for 9.00 and went straight to the new Simpsons Ride which is where the old Back to the Future used to be. As we walked up, I told mum she would have to have her height checked to make sure she was tall enough to ride and she headed over to the CM standing by the Itchy & scratchy height checking equipment. The CM laughed and said I think you are OK (By about a foot). I got a slap on the arm but it was worth it. The ride was great and well worth the 25 Minutes wait, if you want to know any details PM me but Im not going to say too much as I dont wish to spoil it for anyone.
We did virtually all the rides and shows, most had little or no queue. We did wait 30 mins for The Mummy but queues were the exception rather than the norm. After Disaster! I had coffee pangs so we stopped off at San Francisco Pastry Co. and had a coffee and cake. Theresa and I have annual passes which came with a second year free so we were happy. We get 10% off all food at Universal and IOA so we used my annual pass to get discount for us and then gave Theresas to Mum so she and Zena got it as well.
When we came out of The Mummy, Theresas locker wouldnt open and she had to wait for an attendant to come and open it for her. She had to wait so long that the rest of us went and rode Twister and met her outside afterwards.
Lunch was just a quick pizza at Monsters Café as we had an ADR for Artist Point in the evening. It was good and again we had the 10% discount.
After T2 and the Monster Make Up Show, we couldnt resist getting a milkshake from our favourite place Schwabs pharmacy; Cookie dough for Theresa and mint choc chip for me.
We left the park at about 4.00 and went back to the condo for a rest and then got ready for our ADR at Artist Point.
On the way back to the condo we stopped off at ...........Wal Mart to get some bubble wrap for Callums guitar and of course we couldnt resist getting a few more bits and pieces.
I wore some of my new stuff from Sheplars and the ladies were also in smart casuals.
It started well as our table was in the middle and not in the most distant darkest corner as we had had on a number of occasions this trip.
I ordered the Buffalo Steak, medium rare and the others all went for the Pork Chop, which we were informed came medium, Theresa was happy with this but Mum and Zena, being old school, asked if they could have theirs well done. This was not a problem until they started to eat them, all three were very rare and no one wanted to eat them. We complained to the server who agreed they were very rare and took one of the meals over to the restaurant manager. He came over and asked if we would like another but we really didnt want to wait for them to cook up some more and we had been put off of the pork chops now. He said he could understood our feelings and would take one of the meals off the bill completely and would give us all free desserts.
The menu had changed since we were there in November and I didnt like it as much as before. We would still go back, but it has gone down in our opinion and is no longer on a par with Mythos.
On the plus side the Cappuccinos were excellent.
