We stayed in the 80's section our 1st trip, to PoP. I would say the pros were, it was peaceful, and close to the parking lot (and we took the short cut to the busses by cutting through the parking lot). It was close to the playground and the Goofy water jets. Con's wasn't as pretty as the 50's bowling pins at night, and just a tad further away from the main hall, but not terribly so

Our second stay we requested 60's pool view, and got a room 1st floor right outside of the pool. It was a great room for the pool in the afternoon and evening and it was nice to have tables right outside your door to sit at and eat at etc. Classic hall was very close and convient. Con's: it was loud until 12am at night.

I stayed in the 70's section (Mickey phone building) facing the lake. DD8 was with me. The only thing it wasn't convenient to was the parking lot but I knew that as I prefered the building more than close proximity to the parking lot. Not a long walk at all to the pools or common buildings. Pop is laid out much better than ASMo.

We were in the 50's facing the building the says "YOU'RE GROUNDED"... It's like they KNEW!
I think that a room in the 60's facing the wading pool would be nice tho, noisy maybe, but I love palm trees and there are a bunch right there. All those rooms would be prefferred, but they are close to the dining hall, bus, Hippy Dippy pool etc.
I would also like a room in the 70's area that let me see the Goofy statue and Corvette...as you tell , my ideas of great views may be different than others! My kids favorite view was the Slurpy machines!

We've stayed at Pop once, in the 50's section, which I had requested. It was a great location, 4th floor facing the pool. Being on the top floor cut down a bit on noise I believe. It wasn't a bad walk at all to Everything Pop. The walk to the bus stops was a little longer, but still wasn't that bad. We didn't have any little ones, just my younger sis who was 14 at the time.

We've been in the 70's, 80's, and 90's (twice) and that's the same order of preference as well. Our location in the 70's by the Mickey phone was great. We were poolside in the 80's and it was a bit of a jaunt to the food court -- but do-able. Our room locations in the 90's were about as far away as you can get. I didn't complain as I know someone has to stay there...but if we get put there again for a third time I will request a different location (even if we have to wait until late afternoon/early evening to get a room) as I feel we've "done our time there -- it's somebody else's turn".

I have requested the 50's section during our GG in August...but I know most people ask for that area so I don't have real high hopes. I guess we'll just have to wait and see!

Yes, I requested 50's building, top floor, lake view....I am a light sleeper and did not want to be poolside nor have anyone above me. We had out 4 year old DD with us. We liked our room & could see Epcot fireworks at night. It was a good 2 - 3 minute walk to the main hall, but we loved it. It was near the bowling pin pool.

We stayed in the 70's building (telephone Mickey side) on the 4th floor, in the back with a nice view of the lake. I had my 2 teens with me. Since we relied on the busses we didn't find the "short cut" to the bus stop until rather late in the game, but we found that it did save a couple of minutes rather than going through the lobby. For those who'd like to know the short cut, it's through Mr. & Mrs. Potato Head and just keep left!!!

I have all good things to say about Pop and negligible cons, so they're really not worth mentioning.

I've stayed at Pop many times and I've stayed in the 60's once while staying in the 50's every other time. I like the 50's because of the pool and the proximity to Classic Hall. I have never specifically requested the 50's. The one time we got the 60's, I had requested close to Classic Hall because of my Dad, who has neuropathy and has trouble walking.

All standard rooms:

I've stayed in the Tramp building in the 50's-lakeside 4th floor twice. Nice & quiet here and not too far from food court.

I've stayed in the 60's Playdough building lakeside 4th floor. Nice & quiet here and even closer to food court.

I've stayed in the 60's Baloo building on the first floor right behind Baloo (not poolside). Again nice and quiet and VERY close to food court.


I've stayed in the 70's Big Wheel building on the first floor back side. This was the loudest room location-lots of folks walking by the room but still not too bad. Walk to food court wasn't too bad but was longest of my stays.

I was in the 50's....my request was top floor, quiet area. It was perfect.
I was on the top floor facing parking lot. Very quiet. Not a far walk to foodcourt. I had my DD5....she loved POP....better than POFQ

I liked the bowling pin pool the pool was the warmest out of all of the pools I felt that week. Full in the sun....Of course this was good in Jan.....Aug not so much.

I would stay at POP again...just not in the HOT weather. No shade, ceiling fan and coffee pot.....especially in the summer will have me somewhere else.
But I was pleasantly surprised how I did like it.
Foodcourt.....best on IMO.

On our first stay at Pop, we had a standard room and were in the 80's section. On our second stay, we had a preferred room (all that was available with AAA) and were in the 70's building with the big wheel. I didn't make any requests either time and was happy with both locations.

I never requested anything, but I always get (except for 1 trip) the 50's lakeside. A huge plus for this location is that you can see fireworks from Epcot and even Magic Kingdom from certain spots. A negative is that you are also looking at the abandoned POP Legendary Years, and parking isn't really too close. But I like the location, and I come to expect it, since I got it 4 out of 5 times now.

We stayed on the 70's section during our stay at POP. We did not make any request prior to check in , we just got lucky! We stayed right across from the large fooseball game, on the bottom floor. Just a few minute walk to the main building, the main pool, the goofy fountain and the bus stop. We had two connecting rooms and it worked great! Would stay there in again in a heart beat. Our family loved POP, we would be staying there again this year, but we booked a land/sea package and pop is not a resort option for the land/sea package.

We stayed in the 50s on the Lady side. It was really nice. We were really close to the food court area and hippy dippy pool. It was also a quick walk to the buses!

We were in the 50s building, 4th floor overlooking the 60s building and the lake. It was quiet, which is what I wanted (light sleeper). It was not a bad walk to bus, main building and the pool was just off the elevator. Overall... perfect spot for us!

Only been once and stayed in 90's right around the back, so as far away from the main building as you can get. Didn't request anywhere in advance so I guess thats why! It was 4 adults (2 couples) in 2 rooms and it wasnt too bad.

Main problem was that it was too far away to take advantage of the refillable mugs, as by the time we'd traipsed back to the room we'd drunk it all and werent gonna go back just for a top up In the end we took it in turns filling one of the couples sinks with ice and just sticking bottles of soda in to cool (no fridge of course).

All in all though it seemed a lot more peaceful than the rest of the place so it was ok for us adults, but kids might not enjoy the walk back to the room after a long, hot, day in the park and also being so far from the "action" of Classic Hall might put a bit of a downer on things for them.

Stayed in the 80's first floor facing the parking lot.

Pros:

1. Standard room, did not have to pay for a "Prefered" room.
2. Closer to the buses than many "Prefered" rooms.

Cons:

1. Further from Classic Hall.
2. First floor rooms are loud and we had a colicy baby in a neighboring room for a couple nights.

We stayed in the 50's and I hated it. We actually ended up switching resorts (to CSR) after 2 nights. We felt like we were in the middle of nowhere (3rd floor, overlooking the courtyard (towards the 60's). It seemed to take FOREVER to get to our room from the Classic Hall.

We are going back in December (budget trip) and I am requesting anything BUT the 50's...and praying we get the 70's

Oh - and we had 1 child with us as the time - he was just under 2.

Can someone tell me - other than preferred, what section is closest to bus stops? TIA!
