Which rooms are best at Carribean Beach Resort?

I booked a water view room at Carribean Beach resort and I just noticed they have preferred rooms. What are those and are they a lot more expensive and if so, are they worth the extra money?

The preferred rooms are closer to the main pool/food court. IMO, CBR is a very spread out resort. If you don't mind a bit of a walk, then I wouldn't pay the extra for a preferred location. However, if you want to be closer, I would definately spring for it...some of the rooms are quite far. Expecially South Trinidad. Some people like the location because it is quiter and kind of on it's own. (It's across a road from the rest of the resort.) I personally don't care for it--it's too far when you want to run to the food court to pick something up in the morning the busses are often full before they get to that stop and don't even bother stopping.

I think a preferred room is a better choice than a water view. The cost would be the same as what you are paying now. You would be closer to the Main pool and food court.

If you are not spending a lot of time during the day at the resorts, I would just save money and get the resorts. One is a parking lot view and the other faces the ponds, etc.

The parking lot view is quite nice. With all the landscaping it is very hard to see the cars.

We payed for a preferred room last summer and were in Trinidad North and it was SOOOOO worth it! I love how the pool, bar and food court are all in the same area and it was so convenient being in the close location. I will never stay there without getting a preferred room. Just being on the bus picking up from the other location, I couldn't imagine being that far out. The best part was around 9:00 we were in our room on an early night and heard some banging. I ran out of the room, around the corner and what do I see over the trees? Illuminations! Go for it!

I completely agree!!! We were in North Trinidad also, we went in Dec. and it was nice to be close to the pool in Dec. The water was nice, as was the temperatures, but it sure was nice to not have to walk far to get back to our rooms in the evening if it was breezy! It was also very nice to be close to the food court in the am, before we hit the parks. This year we have a request in to try Martinique, I can't wait to see which we like better.

We stayed at CBR in August for the past two years and had preferred rooms in Martinique both times. I think paying extra for a preferred room is definitely worth it. You are so much closer to the food court and main pool, but still feel secluded. The resort is very spread out, which to us is part of the beauty of it, but we just didn't want to have to walk so far every time we wanted to refill our mugs!

Definitely go with preferred. If that isn't available, I'd just go standard and request either Jamaica (short walk to Old Port Royale across the bridge) or Barbados. We loved our location in Barbados, we had two quiet pools on either side of our Bldg. (16) and it was a pretty easy walk to the food court. To me the waterview is just a waste at CBR.

Aruba is a pretty good location too. It is the same distance that Jamaica is to the food court. We were in Aruba Building 52. We literally walked out of our room directly into the pool area. It was great!! You will not be disappointed with CBR. We loved it and planning to go back next time to check out the new pool!
