Changing reservation from Music to Pop...

I am booked for four nights during free dining at All Star Music. We have decided to shift our dates by one day, and all the Values are currently available for our dates. I have never stayed at or even seen any of the value resorts before, but the main things that I have heard are that the All Stars are smaller than Pop, sometimes less crowded (?), have to share a bus sometimes (while Pop always has its own buses), and that All Star Music has been recently renovated.
The trip is just DBF and me; we are having a hard time deciding whether to switch to Pop or not. We will be riding the buses to and from the resorts each day, but then probably driving to our dinner reservations at night. We don't really care about the pools b/c we won't really spend any time there, and we will only be going to the food court to refill our mugs (probably 2 or 3 times a day). I have heard that all the values have the loud toilets and lots of kids running around! Any suggestions about which to pick, if they are all still available tonight when I change my reservation?

While I loved Pop, I preferred Allstar Music. I preferred the theming, the more compact size and we really didn't share many busses in August. Don't know how that works but its always possible to share. We just only shared a couple times total.

We have stayed at ASMo, ASMu (twice) and Pop (just last Saturday night).
I like Pop the best. Mostly because it is just nicer, more lush grounds, and newer.
Although it has been approx 5-6 years ago we stayed at the AStars.

For our March trip I did the same thing waffling between ASMu and Pop. I was nervous since we always stay deluxe. Well we ended up staying at Pop and we really liked it. It has a fun atmosphere and the Giftshop/ foodcourt is great and my kids loved the pools. My kids were just as happy there as Poly. Poly will always be our favorite but we would stay at Pop again.

Wow, all the Value Resorts are available during your FD dates? When are you going? When I called the only option for FD (Sept. 13-17) was All-Star Sports.

To answer your question: DH and I have not stayed at the All-Stars (yet), but did stay at the Pop last January. We loved it. The theming is wonderful, everyone was very nice and the rooms were clean. It was just us so we requested a room with a king bed and had more than enough room. The lines for the buses were long, but the music they play outside was fun and kept us entertained. I didn't get the sense that it was too big. Another thing I like is that the Pop has a lake (or river?) behind it that is nice to walk along.

Hmmmmm..... It is a really nice resort.... I wonder if we can switch from the Sports. :thumbsup2 What dates are open again?:listen:

Have a great trip! :wizard:

Ivote for ASMusic vs Pop for your situation. The recently renovated rooms have those wonderful pillow top beds vs. the harder ones at Pop plus there are some fun resort activities that just make it a nice atmosphere. Pop has icees though so that's where we're staying ( and hoping the machine isn't broken!). Someone had posted photos of the room interiors- I'm not sure how to find those threads but that might help with your decision.---Kathy

I just got back from a 1-night stay at Pop, was even upgraded to a preferred room, but still like ASMu better. I find it to be the more "adult-oriented" of the value resorts and definitely the quietest. Pop was LOUD!!

Just my $.02.

I think you will be happy at ASMU. We stayed there last year and really enjoyed it. The rooms are all fresh and new and the buses were great. I know some people complain about sharing, but we never shared buses when we were there.
