Is there more than one monorail system? I read another thread where it was posted that the TTC Monorail is faster than the resort monorail. This leads me to believe that there are at least 2 monorails. :confused:

I have not stayed in a monorial resort, but am now faced with a decision about Deluxe resorts for next month's visit - and the monorail is a factor I am weighing.

Thanks!

There are actually three monorails

1. MK Monorail goes from TTC=>MK=>TTC

2 Resort monorail goes from MK=>CR=>TTC=>Poly=>GF=>MK

3 Epcot monorail TTC=>Epcot=>TTC

The Express Monorail is on the outer loop and only stops at TTC and Magic Kingdom.It travels in a counter-clockwise direction.The Resort Monorail is on the inner loop and stops at TTC,Magic Kingdom and the 3 Monorail Resorts.It travels in a clockwise direction.:)

Oh! Thanks to you both!!:thumbsup2

SOooo, inorder to get to Epcot from WL, I would use the boat to MK, take MK monorail to TTC, then TTC monorail to Epcot?

It doesn't seem that I can catch a monrail at MK that will take me directly to Epcot. Is this correct?

From the Wilderness Lodge you can just take the bus to Epcot. However if you wanted to take the Monorail you can take the blue flag boat to the Contemporary and from there ride the Monorail to the TTC. Once you arrive ar the TTC you could transfer to the Epcot Monorail.

So, do you enter MK on the monorail ? We are not planning to use a park pass for MK, but I would love to be able to see it by riding the monorail.

No, There is a monorail station outside of the park, next to boat docks. So once you board through the MK station, you go through the CR, and stop at it's station, then you go to the station at the ttc, then poly station, then GF station, then back to MK station. The only time you actually go "through" something is when going through CR and when you go around future world on the EP line.

You can do this, but there's a direct bus from WL to Epcot that is much faster. Going the way you describe would take at least an hour, as opposed to 15-20 minutes by bus.

Neither of the two monorails(Express and Resort) that service Magic Kingdom enter the Park.They both stop at a station just outside Magic Kingdom.You really can't see a lot of MK from the Monorail,BUT the Epcot Monorail DOES gice you a "sneak peak" of Epcot.It makes a loop INTO Epcot around Spaceship Earth and then comes back outside Epcot so you do not need a ticket.You can see a lot of Future World and glimpses of World Showcase during the "loop".It is really fun.:) Also,ask the Cast Member working on the "loading dock" if you can ride up front with the Monorail driver-the view is much better up there.:)

Don't forget that is 1st come 1st serve, so someone else might have asked before. So if you want you can wait for the next Monorail to arrive. Also even if no one has asked there could be other guests already in the front if you were getting on at one of the Resorts, so you would need to wait for the next Monorail that would have no one in the front when it arrives.
