Official Birthday/Anniversary Cake thread

I have a couple of questions for you wonderful experts:worship: I was considering ordering the slipper dessert for Father's Day at CRT. Can we have that put on top of a cake? Also, do I pay for it when I order it, or with our meal? I have been trying to read this whole thread, :surfweb: but with 4 kids, and a slow computer, it's really hard!!!!!! Thanks!:goodvibes

I don't have the exact answer to your question AlyLynn but from what I do know about WDW is that they will try to be as accomodating as possible. If you'll pay for it, they will do it if it can be done!

My family will be at Disney in Dec. and we are going to be having dinner at CM and I would like to know if anyone has used the CR bakery. Myself and DH are celebrating our 4 year anniversary. If they don't have one, then which do they use? I really liked the marble looking cake with vanilla cake and white chocolate mousse filling and Mickey and Minnie topper. Can someone tell me what they would suggest if this is unavailable. We have 6 people in our party so a little cake will do. Thanks!

Can you order a cake from the GF if you are not staying there? It seems like it is the only place that offers the strawberry and custard filling that I want.

I just called a couple of days ago to order a cake for my ds's birthday to be delivered to our room at AKL. I got a 6 in white cake with a strawberry custard filling and vanilla buttercream icing. It will say Happy Birthday Zane on it and it was $25.00.

WOW! That's great to know! I had no idea you could get that filling in a 6 inch AND have it personalized. I'm going to try to get that for CRT. I wonder if I can get an 8 inch like that (maybe with a screen print) delivered to Hollywood & Vine? Does H & V make their own cakes? I don't see them listed on the first page.

I am not really sure about getting the slipper put on top of the cake. However, I just came back from Disney on Friday. I had the mini-castle cake and the slipper dessert. I actually thought they charged for it when I ordered it because they take your credit card number. We dined at 1900 Park Fare for my birthday. Our server told us they don't actually charge for it until you show up for your meal. When I looked at my statement, this is exactly what they did.

FYI, they had a 48 hour order deadline to order the cake. When I ordered my cake on the 31st of May, the lady in fine dining said it had changed to 72 hours. Fortunately, the very awesome CM I had, said there was no paperwork or information on the change.:thumbsup2 She was very forceful with the lady, and got me my cake order. You may want to check the 48 or 72 hour rule.:confused3 It probably has taken effect by now. Hope this helps. By the way, the cake and slipper dessert were delicious.

Missing Disney already.:faint: :tink: :smickey:

Thanks. I'm actually hedging toward the mini castle cake and slipper. I can't decide--and we check in on Sat! You can't personalize those, right? Also, i know its here somewhere, but how much was the mini castle cake? Thanks

Can you post pics of your cake? And did they have writing on the plate?

I was under the impression you could only get the castle cake topper at a GF restaurant or at CRT.

ARGHHHHH!!!!!!! I am sooo frustrated! I have seen two images on here somewhere that I want to order and now can't find them! I am looking for a small cake with Minnie/Mickey topper that could be ordered with either gold or silver mickey ears all around the cake. It had gorgeous roses and stuff on it too. Wanted to order it for our 25th.

Also saw (I think on here!!!!) a plate of tuxedoed strawberries on a plate with a standing Mickey that had been delivered to someone at WL.

Do either of these sound familiar to anyone? help please! :worship:

I also have been on the hunt for the tuxedo strawberries, I thought they were on here too. Here's what I've got so far.

The cake that you are referring to sounds similar to the one on page 2 post 16 on this thread, i don't know how big the cake is that you are referring to as that is a small one, I am sure they could make it bigger if you wanted, There are also several other anniversary cakes right after that post too.

The strawberries, here is an old thread of the strawberries with old prices probably and the pic links are no good, but it will give you an idea:

Last September I ordered tuxedo strawberries for our 25th anniversary lunch at Coral Reef (along with a diver for DH). There were 12 strawberries and Happy 25th Anniversary was written on the plate. The price was $40. They were beautiful to look at and even better to eat :rotfl:

Happy Anniversary! WDW is the best place to celebrate such a special day!

for all who have had the zebra cake at AKL, is it good? I'm thinking about ordering one to have delivered to our room after La Nouba that say's something along the lines for "DH I love you!" or something...also, better wording would be nice if anyone has anything to help....My husband is in the military, and I wanted something cute and witty for him for our honeymoon because I always call him my own personal GI Joe, but I'm blanking (perhaps thats because its after midnight and I only got a couple of hours of sleep last night). Thanks guys....

Oh, if people didn't like the zebra cake, is there anything from AKL that you would recommend?

Thanks again.

OK, now the white chocolate molds of the characters, such as mickey and minnie with gold on them for accents, are only available at the GF, correct? Or maybe at CRT? We're not going to either of those places, so I can't get that, correct? Thanks for the clarification!

I know that they are available at the Yacht and Beach club restaurants also.

You can get the mini castle cake at CRT??? I thought it was only at GF. That would be GREAT because that is exactly what I would get my 5 year old for her birthday.

What is the zebra cake anyway? I've seen pictures of it, but is it just a regular cake with white chocolate fondant and chocolate drizzle?

Mini castle cakes are only for GF hotel guests and GF restaurants. Slipper desserts are exclusive for GF and CRT.:goodvibes

I tried to order the mini-castle cake for my DD's b-day at CRT but they said it was exclusive to GF but I would be able to get the slipper dessert. We'll be there in 17 days!
