Is it possible to make ADRs via the internet, or do I have to call WDW?

Thanks......

I don't know why Disney doesn't move to an internet based reservation system like OpenTable. It would be a huge plus to customer service, it might actually help them control costs too and focus more on their parks and perks rather then a phone center.

I would love an internet based ADR but Disney's record with websites isnt really that good.

You have to call.

This the reason why they shouldn't is being showed case over on the cruise board. The DCL website crashes constantly with people trying to get their adult dining reservations, excursions, and spa treatments. I can't even imagine if they went for an online adr system.

They just need to buy some better servers or if it is outsourced hold their contract up and demand better service.

There is no reason a modern website/server tree shouldn't be able to handle the volume/impact if it was properly designed and maintained.

Oh I definitely agree with you. My dh is a IT consultant so I understand they could do it. I just think disney is stuck in some kindof contract or deal with who ever does their websites and they are not very good. Even the disney world website goes down or is extremely slow. Open Table has become the hit of Atlanta now. Almost every restaurant here in the city uses it and we've had nothing but good experiences with it. That is exactly the type of thing disney needs.

You have to call :sad2:. But I am waiting for the day Disney does allow booking ADRs online......that would be sooo much easier :goodvibes.

Me too! In order for me to make our ADR´s for Thanksgiving week, I will have to call daily from ICELAND!!!

Almost every week, when the 90 or 75 day mark hits for the cruises the website crashes. Week after week.

I wouldn't trust their website.:surfweb:

this effect last year. I'm concerned as a customer and a share holder (very, very, very minor). I'd take putting ADRs on the website in th short term. Someone posted some months ago that they were chosen to participate in testing an online ADR system. We can only hope.

The website or server or whatever is going to have to be extremely good to handle how many people logging on at 7:00 AM Eastern exactly 180 days out.

There will need to be a lot of controls in place. Probably no more double booking for the same day and the same time. And probably needing a credit card to book for everything.

Yeah, it would be nice but with the amount of reservations, it's going to have to be very, very good.

Someone mentioned Open Table in Atlanta. I live in the Atlanta area. I've never heard of it because I don't go to restaurants that require reservations. ALL Disney World table service restaurants require reservations.

I love OpenTable. We don't have any restaurants that utilize it in Syracuse, NY, but when I travel, I book ALL of my reservations ahead. It's so convenient, they have a rewards program, and everything. It's just so nice!

Don't forget that if you're staying on site you can actually book for 10 days at a time....so if you call today, you can book for November 17 to 26th. Be sure you have your reservation number handy....they SHOULD be able to look it up, but when you're calling international, every second matters, so having the number would be faster than spelling your name 30 times, lol. (Been there done that).

If you wait until tomorrow, then you can also book the 27th which is THanksgiving Day.

I know the reservations are changing constantly but it would be neat if you could look up availability on the computer but book it through the phone. It would be so much easier to make decisions if you could see the possibilities.

Personally they should have a ADR website where you can make your ADRs and see whats available. If Nintendo can have a huge server for the Wii and Playstation for the PS3 and get online with no problems, then Disney should be able to have a huge server as well for 1 website. It take A LOT more power to run a game online with no slow times then to run 1 website on a big server.
