We are planning to try Flying Fish in Nov. The menu appears to be pricey which is fine. Just wondering is it worth it or should we do Blue Zoo? Thanks for your suggestion.

FF gets rave reviews here on the Dis, but we felt our meal was only good - not fantastic. And for the dough we were dishing out, I expected fantastic! The restaurant is pretty, and the wait staff was wonderful, but we'd rather eat elsewhere.

bluezoo is on my "to try" list, but I know picky DS wouldn't find anything there to eat, so I'll wait until he starts to branch out a bit from his pizza/burger/chicken strips medley.

I ate at the Flying Fish twice on my last trip (late April) and it was wonderful both times! I'm going back again in October and it's on my list of places to repeat. I've never eaten at BZ so I can't offer any comparisons.

FF is one of our favorites at WDW, although I must admit that my meal there on our recent trip (March 2008) was not the best. bluezoo is also very good. You really can't go wrong with either one.

I am one of the ones who did not have a wonderful meal at FF. Since we had such a bad experience, we have never gone back and I probably should give them another try. I believe they now have a very good manager and that does make all the difference in the world. When we were there, the manager was insipid over our badly cooked meal and even worse service..

I am not sure if they still do this, but they seemed to pushing the alcohol for your table.. Now maybe that was our server, but when we she found we were not drinking, health reasons, we never saw her again... served our meal, and it was not cooked properly and we called the manage who was not helpful..

I have not tried Blue Zoo yet.. but it is a Todd English restaurant and his restaurants in Boston are superb. It is on my list.

Agreed. Both are very good, but different. We tend to lean more towards FF as of late, and the DDE discount is a big factor for that. It seems that BlueZoo has 'lost its steam' on our last 2 visits. Definitely has declined from when it first opened, though still good.

I ate at both on consecutive days. The food and wine list at FF were better than Blue Zoo. Blue Zoo has a more adult atmosphere than FF. It is more like a hotel restaurant than a Disney restaurant if that makes any sense. The service was a little better at Blue Zoo

We hit the Flying Fish for dinner every single year. It's awesome! Potato Wrapped Red Snapper is to die for! :thumbsup2

We have eaten at the flying fish many times and it was always a top choice for us. We ate there this past April and sorry to say we were a little disappointed. The food was not as good as previous visits. Not to say that we won't try it again, everyone has an off nite. Hopefully next time it will be as wonderful as ever.

I would recommend trying it!

We've tried both, and we prefer Flying Fish. Though the restaurants were designed by the same person, I find Flying Fish to be more inviting. Our service at bluezoo was excellent, and we enjoyed our food, but overall Flying Fish just seems less... um... caught up in itself? I don't know. Maybe it's a Todd English thing...

We have never been to bluezoo but we did go to Flying Fish last summer and we are kicking ourselves for not having gone there on previous trips.

The food was excellent. But I was particularly impressed by the service! It was impeccable, attentive, and very helpful.

Needless to say we have an ADR for it when we go down in July.
