First trip to DL with family. Only have two days for the parks (squeezed DL into a larger trip), June 10 and 11. We have 2 day PH but are staying at the GC so we can hit Magic Morning for DL on the 10th. Question - should we take advantage and go to DL on the Magic Morning or switch and go to DCA on the 10th and DL on the 11th. I'm very familiar with WDW and we would avoid the EE days and go to another park but I'm not sure if that strategy works at DL. BTW, getting up early is no problem for our family.

You definitely want to take advantage of MM in DL on the day it is offered. It is a perk that should never go unused! I would actually start both days at DL and then hop over to DCA in the afternoon when DL gets busy.

I would take advantage of MM and go in to DL early. You can always go over to DCA later in the day. It's just across the plaza. MM days are different at DL and you should definitely take advantage of it, especially if you only have 2 days to enjoy the parks.

Definitely use the MM! It is the shortest you will ever wait (if you have to wait at all) to ride anything. The longest we had was actually walking up into Space Mountain - then walk right on :woohoo: Worked perfectly for us - did MM, had a nice brekkie at Carnation Cafe, then walked over to DCA and got there just before rope drop (MM was at 7 a.m. and rope drop that day for DCA was at 10 a.m.) My son did a total of 25 rides that day :scared1:

The park hours for DL that Tuesday are 8:00 am - midnight so does it open at 7:00 am for MM or is it 8:00 am?

The park will open an hour before regular opening time. So your MM would be 7:00 AM.

I would definitely do the MM at DL - I was shocked by how few people were at DCA when we were there - we did most of the park in a single afternoon (granted it was off season in May), and almost all of the rides were walk-ons - no lines at all!!

This right here gives me a great idea to add to my MM superthread (linked above). Thank you.

At WDW it is a good idea to avoid the WDW parks with EMH's; however at DLR I would never recommend going to only one park, on one day like at WDW. It's so much easier to hop at DLR, so I would always start at DL for the morning (MM or not) and then hop over to DCA for the middle of the day. MM does not affect park attendance at DL as much as EMH's affect park attendance at the WDW parks.

ITA with the previous posters.

At WDW, it makes sense to avoid morning EMHs. You gain one hour in the EMH park, but then you can do less because the EMH park quickly gets super crowded. And if you hop to another park, then the return times on FastPasses are really late.

At DLR, most guests who go to MM for the first time become Magic Morning converts. :wizard: During the MM you can easily see 6 or 7 (or more) rides in Fantasyland. And at the end of MM, many MM guests line up for the Rope Drop at Adventureland. At DL's regular opening time, the non-MM guests are still waiting at the DL entrance, while Indiana Jones is nearly a "walk on" for the MM guests. :thumbsup2
