Oh gosh...my choices are slim

Our family is me, dh,dd5 and ds8
Currenly booked: Fri after Thanksgiving through the 1st week in Dec. at POFQ for 8 nights. Then I caught the bug....split stay!!!!!!

I finally convinced myself to splurge an extra $500 to stay 2N at Contemporary Tower MK view. Unfortunately it is not available for the end of our stay. Here are my options:
- POFQ 8N
- POFQ 6N followed by 2N at Poly Garden view (Figure we can walk to the beach for FW)
- ASMo 2N, CR Tower MK view 2N, 4N POFQ

We've done a split stay w/ 2 hotels, and while it IS pretty seemless, you're still not fully unpacked until you get to the final resort...is 3 hotels in 8N too much? Should I just stick w/ POFQ? Will splurging for the Poly feel as good as splurging for CR? At CR, even if we can't swim, it would be so cool to stay in that hotel w/ the Monorail and the view of MK to wake up to and say goodnight. Since I'm not booking MK view at the poly (way too expensive)...I just think it will be a letdown if the weather isn't good and we can't use the pool. Both hotels have convenience, good restaurants and shopping.

Your thoughts?

I soooooo wish I just could have booked the CR Tower at the end of our stay instead of the middle.....maybe it will become available down the road. I can hope anyway!

If anyone has personal insight on hotel splitting 3X good bad or ugly I'd love to hear from you!

POFQ then Poly

I'm a ressie switcher....I went from WL to POFQ to AKL and now am STAYING at Poly for the 9 days !

OK, that's my vote on the bottom. Keep trying. Patience and persistence will pay off. And everyone here will be roting for you. Are you making ressies yourself, AAA, TA??? I recently booked at went in relatively short term, very busy time. With 5 in our group, our choices were very slim. ANd I was not liking my options, almost to the tune of skipping the whole idea. Th3en I gave Dreams Unlimited a try and they turned up some options that were just OK. Then I tried a Disney Specialist TA and she found me great options. Ultimately we settled on BC for 6 nights and we loved it. Perfect for us. I would book the best you can find for know and keep trying. Resort availibilty changes all the time, every day. If you don't have time to do this yourself, then use a Disney TA. I found mine here on the Dis. She is fantastic and I would never do it any other way again. It cost you nothing, and she booked my tix, dining, tours as well. Yes, even the hard ones and when I wanted them. PM me if you want her contact.

I voted stay at FQ. We have stayed at most of the deluxe, find FQ just as comfy for the money, and hate moving once I'm there. You will have a great trip no matter which you prefer!

I voted for 2N ASMo, 2N CR Tower w/ MK view! then 4N POFQ. My reason is the Magic Kingdom view at the Contemporary is that amazing if you have the chance to stay there, even if it's for 2 nights you should take that chance.

POFQ....then Poly. The FW from the beach are fabulous as is the resort itself!

I voted for the whole trip at POFQ, I know the views from the CR are magical but there's nothing worse than packing up and leaving something you like to go to another resort, maybe one of a lesser view. We've done the split stay, once, not to our liking at all. We're the kind of people that like to check in, unload and stash all the groceries, hit the pool and just lie back and chill. We don't want to live out of our suitcases until the next move and moving day is a waste, your luggage isn't delivered until 3 pm or later plus you're sort of roomless for that day, checking out of one, then checking into another etc. Others swear by it but if we want to stay at another resort, we'll do that on another trip. So far after 40 trips, only one split, we found our favorite resort, WL, so moving around isn't an option for us. We've tried quite a few in all our trips, and have become resort snobs, deluxe no nothing but that's just us. Hope you come up with a viable solution and enjoy your stay with the mouse.

I say split it up anyway you want. That seems like the best way to experience the different resorts.

you've stayed at the AMO, and POFQ already! Mix it up girl! Try somewhere new! We've stayed at the Contemp, Poly, GF, WLV, Ft. Wilderness cabins, BCV, BWV, AKL and POFQ... there's something wonderful to discover and enjoy about every disney resort!

I answered your other post, and asked some questions, but you've answered them here. I see you've gone before, so I'll assume you'll be going again. I wouldn't move 3 times then. Save the contemp for another trip when you can get all the dates you want for it and really enjoy it.

AND I definitely wouldn't go from a deluxe to a moderate. I'd only work my way *up*.

So, I'd do a value (not asm), then poly for the remainder of the trip. I've read some people packing a separate suitcase for the next hotel, so you're not 'unpacking and repacking' as much. You'll have to w/ toiletries and such, but if you do the shoe holder, just roll it up w/ the toiletries in it.

i'd stay with one place for 8 nights - that option of 2 nights, 2 nights and then 4 nights would be a lot of packing and unpacking...

I would stay at the 1 one hotel. I think it is a pain in the rear to pack and move when u can unpack at the hotel and relax. I say Stay

If I were you I'd either stay at POFQ the entire trip, or do the POFQ/Poly split. I definitely would not do 3 resorts on an 8 night trip! That would eat up too much vacation time and create too much stress IMO.

That said, we have done split stays (2 resorts, I wouldn't dream of more than that) and we are done with that, for awhile anyway. It is so nice being able to settle into one room and know you're there for the long haul.

Thank you all. I'm staying put at POFQ. As much as I want the Contemporary...it just isn't working out for this trip.

I will keep calling to see if I can snag it for the last 2 nights of my trip...but that's it. Not in the middle. I tried to rationalize how I could just live out of 1 suitcase for the beginning, and not touch the other until we reached POFQ...but I too had it in the back of my mind of how disappointed will I be to LEAVE the CR and go somewhere else. Plus 2 moves in 8 days is a lot.

We have young children who adore the chars at ASMo...that won't last long. Then we'll try other values...or not. I really like the mods. I was going to switch things up and stay at CSR or CB but those resorts are sooooo large. We like being at POFQ....especialy in the winter mths when it might be cooler, and the kids would still want to swim. It provides a short walk back to the hotel room.

Well, thanks again. I certainly will post if I'm able to get CR for the end of my stay!!!!!! That still is my dream...just may have to wait for another trip.

Personally I would go for either all POFQ or the POFQ and the Poly. The 3 way split in 8 days just seems like a lot to me.
