Where is this wade pool? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7dsC2v8p4K4&feature=related Will my 8yo be able to play there with my 4yo? I know it is not a real pool. I am wondering which big pool it is nearby.

I have heard that they have big wheels to ride. Is that only certain days or certian times? What about the hoola hoops. Are they available any time or just at certian times of the day? I saw video of kids writing with chalk. My kids would love that.

Where can you get all these things? The first day we get to the resort, we are just going to stick around the resort and do things. We are not going to any parks the first day. So these look like fun things my kids will like. Is there anything else you can think of to do with the kids on the first day. We will be there by check in time if not before, on June 13th. Thanks.

Hi there! I can help you out with the pool question.

The wading/kiddie pool is located next to the Hippy Dippy Pool by the 60s building. It is a lot of fun. DS was about 2.5 when we stayed there last, and we brought him over there before heading into the HD Pool with his swimmies. It was a great to watch him, and he really enjoyed it.

I am not sure of the timing of all the other events you're asking about but this

would be a great thread for you to read. It's the POP FAQ thread, and will most likely have answers to your questions. You may want to post on there, those people are Pop experts! :thumbsup2

There's a big Twister game set up with a spinner and everything that you can do whenever you want.

Actually, I was just at Pop Century and had some time to myself while the husband did some business. I walked all around the resort for over an hour and had a great time. I took pictures of every single icon and stairwell and noted how great everything fit into the decade theme. Since your kids are very young, you can easily do that and explain just what all those things are. You can also walk along the lake where there are signs for every year between 1950 and 1999 with a significant event that took place in that year. Another opportunity to tell your kids what happened before they were born. And don't forget about the shadowboxes in the lobby.

Oh - one thing. Go up to the upper level of a building near the computer pool. From there, you can see just how great the design the pool is. The pool is the monitor and then the keypad is right below it. And at the 50's pool, take notice that the walkways along the pool are designed to look just like a bowling lane.

I love Pop Century because I never get bored.

Would love to see your pictures! This is our first trip to Pop Century having stayed at the CBR in the past. I am a little anxious about a value resort. Pictures would be a great reassurance!

The wading pool is right behind the Hippy Dippy Pool area. It's a great place. I actually saw a bunch of moms just sitting in the water with their kids, so I doubt the 8 y/o will have any problems playing with the 4 y/o!
As for Big Wheels, I have never seen any for people to ride. There is the giant Big Wheel by some of the buildings, but none to ride on.
There are specific times that the POP CMs come out and hula hoop. My dd played with them in Jan. And I've seen chalk by the main entrance area.
Check at the front desk when you checkin...they should be able to give you all sorts of great info.

We just got back Sat. from pop and loved it. This was our second trip.

The chalk is by the lobby entrance. I let my dd draw while we waited for the ME bus when we were leaving. I am sure you could do it anytime but that time just worked perfectly for us.

The life guards all hoola hooped one day when they were starting work one morning. Another day they all came out with crazy wigs on.

Last year my dd got to bowl in the lobby one day and was given a small prize.

There is always something fun going on. It just depends on when you are there.

I'm going to PM you. Stupid husband left the camera behind in Gatlinburg and just got it back today.

I'll download tomorrow and try and figure out how to get the photos to you. Ah hem - they are awesome.
