hiya
we've booked a villa for our trip in november, but i'm thinking of booking one night in one of the monorail loop deluxes for our anniversary.
i want a theme park view, and out of the 3 i prefer the polynesian as a hotel, but was wondering which hotel has the best MK view rooms?
personally i think the GF is a bit too old fashioned for my liking, so think its probably between the poly and the contemporary. obviously the poly is the furthest away from the MK, and the photos ive seen of the MK views make it look even further away, whereas the photos ive seen of the contemporary MK views are really nice and close to the park. but the poly is a much nicer themed hotel....... i cant decide!!! HELP!!!!!

has anyone stayed in the MK view rooms, what are they like, are they worth the money? can you get concierge MK views? which would you recommend and why?
thanks in advance

Personally I think the Contemporary has the best Magic Kingdom view because it's the closest Resort to the Magic Kingdom, so you would get the best view possible no matter the floor you would stay on.

As for getting a Club Level room with the Magic Kingdom view it's different at each Magic Kingdom Monorail Resort. At the Contemporary on the Atrium Club 12th floor a Magic Kingdom view is not guaranteed and only by request. It's the same thing for a standard room on the Tower Club 14th floor, however any suite on the 14th floor with the title Magic Kingdom view will guarantee you that view. So if a Magic Kingdom view is your top priorty it's best to make a reservation for it on a regular Tower floor, or in one of their suites that comes with the view.

At the Polynesian if you make a reservation for a Club Level Lagoon view you will see Cinderella's Castle in the distance, however it's not a full view of the Magic Kingdom that you would get at the Contemporary.

The only one I can't tell you about is the Royal Palm Club at the Grand Floridian since my family and I have not stayed there. I also know their other Club Level building which is Sugar Loaf Club does not come with a Magic Kingdom view.

We have stayed in a MK view room at the GF and Poly. Overall we prefer the the GF. BUT.....I have to say I think the Poly had a better view of the castle. We requested 3rd floor Tahiti building.

We have never stayed the CR, but plan to someday. I bet the view is amazing there as well.

We are staying at WL in the fall. Can you see MK at all from WL?
There are no specific Magic Kingdom view rooms you can make a reservation for. I think some rooms might have an obstructed view of the Magic Kingdom, however I am not sure which ones those are.

Here is a photo of my families Magic Kingdom view from August 2006, when we were in room #4840 which is on the 12th floor.

What a great pic CRFan! I will be bugging you when we finally book the CR. You'll have to school me on what to reserve and what to request!

Sorry OP for highjacking your thread :)

Did they do away with this? Last year be booked a Magic Kingdom room view at the GF. It was an additional fee and the view was very disappointing. So much so that we were switched to a different room and still refunded our money because the view wasn't that great.

Does anyone know if they still offer this? I am very curious.

I was referring to the Wilderness Lodge rooms and not the rooms at the Grand Floridian.
