Should We Be Able To Set Guest Limits In Our Rooms?

What do you think. I would like to see us choosing the number of guests that can be in our room. I would say up to 30. Because if you try to recreat a Disney show with it's seating area which is huge, and only 15 are there it's kinda empty even though it's full.

I think that would be something for a future version/update etc. as more than 15 creates a lag issue unless they improve server bandwidth and compression and so on.

Ill,

I think for a room like you're doing today, that a lot more people would be great. There could be serious lag issues if people were up and moving around, but if you just have a seated audience i agree, you could put more people in your room.

One of the things that I love about the rooms that you do is that you always engage your visitors. I go to some other rooms and the owner never knows I've been there.... but you always great people and welcome them and interact with them.... :)

Like a PP said, this would create LAG issues if the number goes above 16. It's currently set at 16 which includes 1 spot for the owner, so it's 15 people other than the owner. I'd be fine if you could choose a number lower than this, but like I already said, more will create LAG.

Issues:

1. Server issues - VMK can't support that many people in one room!
2. Room spacing
3. Fast chat

I'd estimate about 3000 players, since alot quit. If they can support 7000+, then they probably wont need much of a sever upgrade.

I doubt that 4000 + quit they just thought it was closing and when they find it still open on the 22nd they will pop back up.

When vmk started, you could have many people in a room. Somewhere on the boards can find pictures of really full rooms. Then they changed it because of lag issues. I don't see them changing it back or to a different number.

Have you ever tried being in a room at close with 15 and everyone doing magic?

No the full rooms were a bug. You weren't allowed to have as many people as you'd like in a room.

I wish we could set guest limits in our rooms because it would be more convenient if you were hosting something big. Except the downside of lag, and faster chat. You can tell people to not use magic but people don't always listen if you tell them not to speak that much. I know CP and VMK are different but I remember going into these rooms with many, many people. The whole Dojo or whatever place the party said to be was completely covered with penguins. Oddly I never got lag at the time but it was pretty easy to miss what somebody was trying to say. In VMK chat floats away from the avatar, so its not that hard to miss but you should be a pretty fast reader if you wanted to respond to most of them.

It would only work if the event is organized, but things like the preview of club 33 and the tron room were quite messy. It would be nice to have a room chat turn off switch like staff have when they have something to say.

Ive been in a room full of people doing magic ive experienced no lag, It's not just there servers check your internet connection.

Internet connection wouldn't create the same "lag", and a room full of magic has nothing to do with the lag we're talking about. Lag caused by magic would be a computer incapability. Server lag is when the game suddenly pauses, and then all of a sudden unpauses. You can tell when it's a server lag because people are likely to move around and say lag and other random stuff. "Lag!" "lag" "omg i cant move"
