Although the media seemed to pay attention to savevmk.com,
the site may seem a bit fishy but it was also the first site to bring us many of the latest news. Ridley Pearson was always a VMK fan, he even mentions VMK in one of his books I believe?

Ok...at the bottom of the blurb about Ridley Pearson, it says there are rumors that Disney will consider keeping VMK open if we get 20,000 petition signatures?

This is the first I've heard of that. Anyone else? And yes, I understand that it is a RUMOR. I'd just like to know more about it.

someone posted that on another board and the mods closed it but it reached 10 pages and I can only assume the owner decided to continue to feed the rumor.

No I am not the owner of savevmk.com, just another concerned vmk'er who is trying to help. I know there is a link on that site to contact the owner, maybe that might be a way to get answers to your questions if you havent already tried it. Just saw the update on the site earlier tonight and thought it might be good news and wanted to share.

I enjoyed reading Kingdom Keepers In the book, their VMK characters had a soda machine in a room. Wouldn't it be great if Disney could get sponsor's such as Coca Cola or Kodak for VMK. We buy Kodak film for our VMK cameras. I would like a Coke machine or Coke shirt. This could be a way for them to fund the game and keep it free.

I agree with the Coca-Cola part. Also- Coke could release promotions where you buy X amount of Coca-Cola prodcucts (Coke,Diet Coke, Sprite, Dasani, etc.) and you'd win a certain virtual prize. I'd also buy a Coke T-Shirt and Coke Machine. Great Idea! The Kodak idea is great also, Disney could do the same thing where you got a special camera or something with buying Kodak products. Also- one last thing, The Kingdom Keepers books are sold in Walt Disney World, so that is one Disney associate for keeping VMK open. Now you've got me thinking about Coke so I'm really thinking about opening one right now

I think the whole coke=virtual items is a great idea, lol. I usually open my first around 5:30 am (its my coffee) aww go ahead and crack one open, im already on my second

And this should be easy for Coke to do, they already have a rewards program. mycokerewards.com.

I have bought ten of these books for my middle school classroom. Why ten you ask? Because the kids keep taking them because they love the book!

I also know several of my kids who play VMK. They have no idea I play, but I have heard them talk about the game. These are not kids you would think who would play VMK - these are kids in a gang infested area who use the game to escape the horrors of their every day lives.
