OT-Pooh Sized and Waterpark??

I love how people use the term "Pooh sized", so I couldn't resist. I guess I'd call myself Pooh sized (I'm a size 16)....

Last year I took my DS to a waterpark and suffered at the end with a horrible rash from my thighs rubbing together  I always wear swim shorts over my bathing suit, but I guess with the shorts being wet and walking around alot, it caused them to rub. Not something I'm proud of.

I recently lost some weight, and plan to lose more before summer, but I have a feeling I'll still have the same problem. My DS wants to go to a local waterpark this summer, but I'm afraid of having the same embarrassing and painful experience again.

I know I'm not the only one with this problem. What does everyone else do??:confused3

TIA!
Jen

I always wear the skirted two piece bathing suits. Easy to go to the bathroom and no problems with the chafing.

I've decided to go to one of the waterparks this trip, and I know I'll have same problem!! I can't wait to hear some good answers. :-)

I know they have some body glide things on the market that help with the rubbing problem, but I don't know if they're waterproof.

With the skirt, you then have skin touching skin...nothing to seperating the thighs. Do you think it's the fabric that's causing the problem since you don't have the problem when you wear the skirt??

Body Glide -- it's definitely waterproof. You buy it from sporting goods suppliers (it was created for runners, men especially -- you can guess why.)

It's a lifesaver any time you have to walk around in wet clothing, a must for visiting DAK and riding Kali.

I think it's the fabric, because my son (not overweight) refuses to wear regular swim trunks to water parks, because of the chafing. He will only wear the lycra jammers that come down to his knees and are very tight. We'll see if these are still his choice as he gets older.

I had the same problem when I wore board shorts on our last trip and it was awful! I have a tankini with a cute little skirt that I wore all last summer with no problems! but we are taking body glide this time, I don't want DH to have any issues that would make him grumpy.

I wear mens bathing trunks.. after 4 kids I wont wear a regular bathing suit.

Does body glide feel the same as a deodorant? Is it wet or does it go on dry?
How long will it last before you have to reapply?
Thank you
Kris

Body glide goes on dry (well not wet at least) I think the word I would use for it is "slick". It sort of reminds me of the sort kwik stuff I use for my fingers at work (so I can shuffle through/separate papers).
