Question for my peeps:

When did nu-Yavn seem to appear? We went through a few months of no host prizes, extreme lack of newsletters, etc...

I was doing some googling today and found a blog by a guy who says he was hired to work for Sulake on VMK in Nov 2007. Does that timeline match when we saw Yavn kind of "back"? Or could it be Hurry? Or, is it just some random behind the scenes guy?

He was flown to LA and given a tour of Disney studios, so it had to be someone of at least semi-status.

Yavn seemed to be gone before any of that.

Well there was like 3 monhs last summer where Yavn was MIA no newsletters or anything so that could have been when the New Yavn came aboard.
(if there actually IS a new yavn lol)

if I wasnt struggling right now with something else I could pin point the time. it would go back to when he disappeared on everyones friend list.

i noticed it during the summer last year.

I read somewhere that the last time he logged on was 6/22/07.

Back in September, we were all especially suspicious about the lack of new items and lack of newsletters.

I don't know when the deletion occurred, but Bug said something about Yavn not being on for 2-1/2 months and then him disappearing from Slinkyman's friend's list. That could put the mass deletion at the beginning of September.

Wait! The yavn we knew was the non-screw up yavn? Wow.

Wait!! So he's been gone a little bit after the visit with Ink and Ace?

Well, here's from 9/27/07 newsletter:

9/27
"Hello again! It's yours truly, back again with another exciting edition of Yavn Speaks. I know, I know – "Where have you been?? What have you been up to? What's going on with VMK?" Well, like most of you, since summer's over I had to get back to work – in fact, myself and the rest of the VMK team have been hard at work on lots of very cool additions – you'll find out what we've been up to soon enough, but right now let's take a look at what's on tap for the month ahead:...."

Is that it? This newsletter also goes on with (never fulfilled) promises of the advanced version of the trading card game blahblahblah......

Actually I read a post the day they announced the closing. It appeared on another site. It gave an interview with him and gave his real name. I don't think I am allowed to post it here. Don't know if it is the same guy or not

Many of us know his real name :) We tend to call him yavn to keep the magic alive. :)

I am not talking about *that* Yavn. ;) I came across another guy that went to work for Sulake on the VMK project.

and BTW, his real name is on one of the license plates in the Sci-Fi Dine In. ;)

I think that same article was posted here- it wasn't really an interview with him, they just took the yavn speaks article and called him by his real name when quoting it. Pretty tricky!

I think Sulake has a community manager for VMK like they do for each habbo country. That person would be in charge of in-game moderators/hosts and more community-related stuff.

Hi,

I asked ink. He said it was in Aug of 2007. On Dec 10th Yavn did come back on the game in Nedakh's room. Ink was there and was able to see him. This is the last we have heard of him being in game.

Bug

I think the believed time for him to leave was anywhere from, say, May 07 to September 07. I think it was May that the newsletters began disappearing.

yay im a winner (i had to edite bc i spelled winner weiner the first time) lol
