The Great Make Up Trip Of 2008~7/22- SEE YOU REAL SOON! (pg. 86) ~COMPLETED~

Just getting caught up! First of all, I’m sorry to hear about DH’s grandmother.

Your countdown calendar is great. :thumbsup2 Your DHS goals are great. :thumbsup2 You HAVE to ride Tower of Terror – it’s such a blast! I love The Great Movie Ride too! No shame in that. I hope you get to ride Toy Story Mania – I was secretly hoping there might be test rides while we were there over the weekend, but of course there weren’t – way too early, but that’s what I expected. Your goals for AK are great too. :thumbsup2 I agree about less time at Rafiki’s. The boneyard is so much fun! Your 1997 pictures are too funny! The castle is hideous! I don’t remember it being like that when we were there. (October 1997)

Can't wait to read more - it's coming up quick & it sounds like you need it more than ever. :goodvibes

Thank you:hug:
I'm still trying to be brave enough for ToT. I can ride all sorts of roller coasters but something about being dropped just gets to me.
I will jump for joy if we get on Toy Story.:yay: But don't want to get our hopes up too high.
How was your trip??
sorry for your loss. :grouphug:

So sorry for your loss.

Saying a prayer for your family.

:hug:your family:hug:

:grouphug: Thanks so much! You guys are the best!!

I'm so sorry! I lost my grandma last year and I still miss her alot.
You are in my prayers.

Hi Blue! I was a lurker on your last TR and when I was ready to post it had been moved to the completed board:sad2: Anyway, I wanted to let you know how much I really enjoyed it! You did a terrific job:thumbsup2 I am sorry you weren't feeling well but I am happy for you that you get to take a makeup trip:yay: Your DS is ADORABLE!:goodvibes I am so sorry to hear about your loss:hug: It is very difficult to explain death to a child. This past fall my 2 DS 8&6 lost their Grandfather. My 8 year old really understood that he wouldn't see him anymore and that he was in heaven with Jesus but my then 5 year old just accepted the info. and really never said much else until about a month ago, when he said to my DH daddy "when we go fishing this summer, do you think Papa will know we are fishing?" Just out of the blue like that. I think that is what you might expect from your DS too. My thoughts and prayers are with your family!:flower3:

I'm thinking this is what is happening with DS. We told him and he sort of looked shocked then hung his head and walked to the other side of the room and curled up in a chair. He didn't cry, but we talked with him about it for a little while. He's doing good. I'm thinking it will come up again later, though.

Sorry to hear about Grandma.:grouphug:

SHORT UPDATE:
The funeral has been postponed for a couple more days so that a family member can get here from Iraq. Today is sort of free so I'm thinking DS and I will take DH on a picnic to a new park in our town. :thumbsup2
See you guys later. Thanks for all the well wishes and prayers. They are greatly appreciated. :flower3:

Yesterday I went out to check the mail and when I opened the mailbox this is what I saw......

That's right ladies and gentlemen, Flat Jordan has arrived!! He is already up to mischief around here but is making us laugh which is exactly what we need right now.

As I mentioned earlier, I was going to take DH on a picnic today to cheer him up. DS and I packed up the picnic basket and away the 3 of us headed to a brand new local park! When we arrived, I opened the back of the Yukon and what should I find?? You guessed it....Flat Jordan! He said he could have swore he saw a couple of squirrels plotting for our basket of goodies and so he was protecting it.

After we stuffed our bellies with lots of yummy sandwiches, and chips, we then had watermelon and ended the picnic with a slice each of banana nut bread. We headed toward the childrens playground section of the park so DS could play and along the way we again found Flat Jordan watching out for us.

We had a wonderful picnic and walk through the park. I think this is just what DH needed today. :thumbsup2

I'd also like to add here that I took the above pictures with my camera that "DIED" on our last trip. A few days ago, I got aggrivated trying to find a bag to fit my new camera in that was comfortable enough for me (5' 3") to lug around WDW. I have found NOTHING. The bag I ordered is too big for me.:sad2: So in my frustration, I took a screwdriver to my broken camera. I opened it up, saw all the millions of parts inside, then closed it back because there was no way I could possibly figure out what's wrong with it. Well, when I put the last screw in I pushed the power button just to see if anything happened and it TURNED ON!!!!!!:scared1: I took a couple of pics and everything seemed OK. I turned it off and the little automatic lens cover doesn't close over the lens. :confused3 After messing with it a bit, I got it to close but it's back to staying open. I took this camera to the park today so that I could test it out. It seems to be working fine now but the lens cover just won't close. I may take this camera (assuming it still works in 20 more days) to the parks with me and use my new "better" camera for picture taking around the resort.

Was I stalking people in the flower bed?;)

I'm glad my alter ego had a good time!!!!!

I'll be interested to hear how people react when you whip FJ out at WDW. I got some interesting comments/laughs and general staring...but all of it good natured...

sounds like a nice day in the park. I have not gone on a picnic in ages.

at the park u might want to take the new camera and get a locker in case the other decides to go again. just a thought.
