Checking in for Southwest Flights -- using BlackBerry (or other handheld)?

I've never done an on-line check in for Southwest on my BlackBerry. I'm wondering what other people's experiences have been doing a SWA check in with their handheld. Knowing that time is of the essence and you need to be checking in at the 24 hour mark EXACTLY, I'd love to be able to do it from my BB and not have to go find a computer with internet service while we're playing at the Magic Kingdom.

I appreciate your help.

I checked in on my cell phone's browser a number of times. The most memorable time was when we were at the beach - rolled over from my towel, retreived my phone and within a minute we were checked in, then back to paradise. Very simple. Just have to get your boarding passes printed when you check-in your luggage.

I've done it several times on my Blackberry--from DHS, from in front of a video poker machine in Vegas, etc.--and it's worked great. Just be sure to go to mobile.southwest.com.

Oddly, when I checked in using the browser on my wife's iPhone last week I was unable to locate the button that allows you to check in all members of your party nor could I select more than one person at a time to check in. As I result, I had to scramble and check in each person separately resulting in getting A50, B3, B5 and B7. Don't know if I just missed the button or what. I've never had that problem with the Blackberry, however.

Another vote for checking in on your BB. Last trip, I checked while waiting in queue for RnRC... Very easy

Last time I flew I checked in with my cell phone.

The hardest thing is that if you're out and about, you need to remember to bring your confirmation number with you. Aside from that, it's a piece a pie, easy as cake, a warm breeze, the cat's bark, so convenient it should be illegal...

My only hiccup in the process was that I don't have web service as part of my normal calling plan, so I had to factor in some time to enable it - you can enable it for just one day on Verizon - before I checked in. This delayed me by about 5-8 minutes, but I still got fairly low number boarding passes.

I hadn't found the www.mobile.southwest.com information, so that is WAY helpful. It is a much more user friendly page than the regular website. Looks like this will work okay. I've put the confirmation numbers in my memo envelope on the BB (and I've quadruple checked that I have the numbers right), so that is all good. Thanks to all. I can only handle "piece of cake" when I'm on vacation.

I also have used both my BB and my regular Cell for this the past 10 or so times.

Just save Bookmark for the page that you enter the info in and it makes it much easier to get to.

I then leave myself a Calender event to pop up 10 mins before hand with the Confirm numbers in it . This way I have them right there before I have to do the check-in.

I hope to have the new Sprint instinct touch phone to do it this trip in July. But will use my BB next week while on business and my cell in May for that trip

I also always check in using my cell phone and it is SO easy!! I still don't know why so many people seem "afraid" to do it this way! :confused3 Oh well, they're missing out! :goodvibes

Um, what all the PP's said. Mobile check-in is the way to go.

Last August, I checked in for my return flight while standing in the FP line at Expedition Everest. The family in front (whom I had been talking to already) saw what I was doing and asked to borrow my Palm so they could also check in for their flight. They had planned on running back to their resort to ask the concierge to check them in, but this was way faster...

I've never used my cell phone to access the internet, I'm not even exactly sure how to do it!!

Well, if you have a web enabled cell phone (not all are, but it seems that most are these days! LOL), you should definitely check into it..........very simple to do once you figure out how or if you can do it on your phone! If in doubt, call your cell phone company. :goodvibes :thumbsup2

When we checked in with my sis in laws iphone, after we put in the confirmation #, we didn't see the select all button to check everyone in our party (5). So we had to do it one at a time. Anyone else have this happen?

I know that I didn't have to do everyone separately on my phone, I had just to scroll WAY down to find the button. :goodvibes

Not to hijack, but anyone used a mobile device to check in with AirTran?
