Hey appliance detectives, there are so many savvy smart posters here and i need your help before i call the repair guy!

We have a water leak from the bottom right of our fridge.

The auto-ice-maker is on the top left side, so didn't think it was that ... or could it be? It's not constant either, some days are worse than others, some days there's nothing leaking!??

Any ideas what it could be - or what we could try before we call the repairman??

Thanks in advance!

Anyone have any ideas .... anything at all..... please....??

Where is your water filter? Ours is on the right - the ice maker on the left. We had a problem with the filter and the water was backing up in there.

Go to RepairClinic.com.

They have parts and can provide help via e-mail.

Parts/shipping are reasonable compared to most local parts/repair shops.

FYI....

(I've used them for refrigerator parts, range parts, microwave parts, etc.........)

Thank you, i will check it out and bookmark the site for future issues :)

But first, how do i / we determine exactly what we need?

I have a feeling its something really simple because the fridge is only about 4 years old.....

I service appliances for a living, with a little info I'm sure I can help :) What make is the ref? Is it a top/bottom mount or side by side (where is the freezer located)? And if you can get me the model # usually located in the fresh food section I could help by getting you part #'s. Feel free to PM me directly for any help as well.

Good Luck,
Sean

Sometimes the water hose (in the back) gets kinked when the fridge is pushed into place and that spot gets weak over time, leading to a leak. Because it is normally coiled, the water could come from the opposite side of the ice maker...

We have had the water filter leak as well...it soaked under the flooring though and was squishy when we walked across the floor with no real puddles on the surface.

Thank you Sean, and thank you MnFootballMommy. You are so nice.

My neighbor came over and said they had the same issue. We pulled out the fridge to find a tiny leak in the tube. Altho neither are really 'handy'....:scared1: ....they will 'attempt' to repair it later... I'll let you know how it goes! ;)

Again, thank you very much for your replies. And sean, your offer to help.
